Made In India- LED products if well supported by Government of India for export can find lucrative market for Indian products overseas, for example is Middle East, Far And Near Eastern Markets, not but not the least the evergreen growing markets in African Continent.

The government needs to target - manufacturers, sellers and users at the same time. Provide low-interest credit for manufacturers to increase capacity. Develop a tax credits policy to incentivize manufacturers, sellers of LEDs as well as to encourage research in energy efficient tech. Provide subsidies to users who buy LEDs, spread awareness through ads and roadshows. Also, energy audit government offices, use LEDs wherever possible bringing down bills & reducing carbon footprint.

1. Major reason for its LED not taking off is its cost prohibitiveness, which is becoz of "Law of Large No's" not playing out. 2.Local Bodies can make use of LED compulsory for new Malls coming up or Commercial Bldg. beyond a threshold size. 3. PSU's/Govt Dept be also asked to install it compulsorily for any replacement of CFL/Bulb. 4.Manuf'r be encouraged to offer it @reasonable price & tax benefit b offered.
