Section 161 of Railway act indicates “If any person driving or leading a vehicle is negligent in crossing an unmanned level crossing, he shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to one year.”

Section 131 of the Motor Vehicle Act indicates that “Every driver of a motor vehicle at the approach of any unguarded railway level crossing shall cause the vehicle to stop and the driver of the vehicle shall cause the conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person in the vehicle to walk up to the level crossing and ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side and then pilot the motor vehicle across such level crossing, and where no conductor or cleaner or attendant or any other person is available in the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle shall get down from the vehicle himself to ensure that no train or trolley is approaching from either side before the railway track is crossed”

However due to non-following of relevant rules by the road users, many accidents are occurring resulting in loss of precious life  at unmanned level crossings.

Suggest solutions for reducing accidents at unmanned level crossings.

Railways should focus on ensuring Waste Bins with capacity are put into all the compartments and in between the journey outsourcing jobs are assigned for cleaning the bins. Most of trains dont have waste binsso people are forced to throw it on the tracks.

Even now it seems that there are corruption in the ticket booking wherein agents are involved this effects the common man. Idea should be to block and ensure faster processing of online transactions.

Respected Sir.. The first and foremost thing to stop accident is to strick fine/penalty and punishment should be there. Those persons still willing to try that must be given punishment like that 5000-10000 rupees fine and there vehicle must be submitted to govt officials atleast for a wear or more. Drivers licence should be banned for any vehicle driving at least for a month or more. This how somewhat very strick rules must be formed to decrease this accidents.
