The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP.  For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure   a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

Training is basically in hand creation of skills and better understanding of work environment and the interaction of envinronment fro proper decision making and following the instuctions. yes practical approach is always better with minimum 50 % weightage of Class room discussion/writeups/ simulation with work. in minining sector for better o/p the man behind manchine should be properly tarined fro that work only and regular upgardation in skills is must so in field/on job is better.

Standards in mining sector are horrible. First improve that. Then provide some on-field training course for those who seek employment in that sector. There are lot of school drop out persons in all over the country. If you can tap that manpower and turn them into some good workers. There is no need for MGNREGA for our country. People needs work to live , not your rations.

‘Love Food, Hate Waste’ is necessarily the need of today to drive Indians towards nil food wastage and for curbing food inflation. As a pledge, let us unite and stop showing off of assets during marriages, prepare as per our needs, and distribute leftover food to poor households. Our awareness can render food to more plates, preventing anyone from sleeping hungry. Resources belong to society hence we cannot waste them. Battles are won in battlefields, not in war rooms. The main reason of industry's cry over lack of skilled labour is that the manpower do not have practical exp but only theoretical knowledge and perceptions which do not match ever dynamic industry expectations. No doubt the basic concepts can be imparted in classrooms but the real competence can be developed only in on-site job training. Also there is a dire need to overhaul archaic academic curriculum to bring in tune to industry requirements.
