I think the first and foremost think that needs to be done is to improve the conditions of govt hospitals so that hospitals have all the latest medical equipment and patients don't have to go to private hospitals and spend lakhs of money there. Further doctors should be encouraged to join govt hospitals instead of joining private hospitals.

Sir, I feel the NEHA should be a platform to address the problem for people, administration and the service providing agency. This can have data base of all the three and the activity done by the these 3 and support provided to the service agency. It should be able to bring the transparency, accountability and prompt solution of the people and all should be able to view the details in a particular case as well as emerging trends at a particular point of time. I would suggest at every village we have to appoint a nurse with a laptop and internet access so that he can contact the district HQ hospital on skype and take the advice from the senior most Drs. to treat a patiant at grass root level at remote villages, even he can approach the patients home if to see bedridden patients. 10:32:34 MyGov Operator 1 Hello

am sure insurance companies would have built the necessary record for their own clients. Professionals group would be ready for assisting Govt. volantarily. Municipalities have health dept and would have all records of clinics and practitioners. Some way of capturing would be easy as everyone uses IT tools these days.

EHR is a good initiative though with challenges in India to start with. Simple things like linking the health details to a common code like AADHAR card would be easy. It would be simple if all public and private clinics are connected to main health ministry server. Common things like blood group and allergic history etc to start with. Adoption of practices and customizing if necessary would be faster than reinventing. Of course this is a cost but for a good reason; am sure insurance companies
