समय समय पर माता-पिता को जागरूक करने हेतु कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाने चाहिए, जिनमें उन्हें कन्या को बोझ न समझने हेतु प्रेरित किया जाना चाहिए, कन्याओं के समाज में योगदान से अवगत कराना चाहिए। साथ ही बालक की तरह बालिकाओं की समुचित शिक्षा प्रदान कर अपने पैर पर खड़े करने हेतु सजग करना चाहिए। कन्या का मोटे दहेज के साथ विवाह ही जीवन का एकमात्र लक्ष्य नही होना चाहिए बल्कि वो उनके बुढ़ापे की लाठी बन सकती हैं बेटों की तरह समझाने का प्रयत्न करना चाहिए। जागरूकता अवश्य परिवर्तन लाएगी।

अक्सर माताएँ घर के काम काज में बालिकाओं की सहायता लेने हेतु उन्हें विद्यालय भेजने में आना कानी करती हैं। यदि बालिका विद्यालयों का समय 11 बजे सुबह से 4 बजे सायंकाल तक हो तो उपस्थिति में अवश्य गुणात्मक परिवर्तन दिखेगा।

अधिकांश बालिकाओं की शिक्षा संसाधनों के अभाव में आगे नही बढ़ पाती। प्रत्येक ग्राम पंचायत में एक पुस्तकालय की व्यवस्था होनी चाहिए जिसमें पुरानी किताबें तथा विद्यालय की पोशाक जमा कराने का प्राविधान हो ताकि आवश्यकतामंद को दी जा सकें।

I believe a significant head way can be achieved in this area by appointing parents of women who have achieved high distinction in their chosen fields and stand head and shoulders above the rest. Sending these parents of "successful" women to panchayat meetings, schools. maternity wards in hospitals (where girl child first faces discrimination) to educate parents on how to give their daughters the best opportunities to succeed in life. These parents should act as guides and mentors to others.

Right now, there is a 90% chance that while I am posting this, a girl might be going through the hell. What can we do to help them? I am an IT pro and doing online campaigning which is what I can do, but what can be done to help girls in need right now??
