The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

In fact, the tag line should read as "Beti Bachao - Samaj Bachao". The country can prosper only when the women get a level playing field as the men because it is the mind that sets the way for the progress of the country. The education should be meaningful to change the mindset of people towards health and education of girls and boys i.e., all Indians irrespective of their demographic or social status. People aware of the implications of their action to the society can act for its good.

why does not our Govt make it a law that the ultrasound doctor rather than concealing the sex of baby should tell and certify that the lady is carrying a FEMALE fetus with copy to her Police station. Now if something happens to that female fetus before delivery, the MOTHER, HER FAMILY and the TREATING DOCTOR should be quizzed. That is how we can make this rotten PNDT Act more accountable. The doctor (OBGY) performing the abortion should be held responsible.
