I believe that a vital part that we are missing when we talk about education is making the children aware of child abuse, the causes, the effects and the preventive measures. Even the parents and teachers should be a part of this as they are the safe elders, and who need to communicate with their kids. It is sad that schools are not willing to take up anti-child abuse programs that I am trying to inculcate while talking to them. It is through schools that we can reach out to a large number.

I THINK SUBJECTS LIKE PHYSICAL EDUCATION, ART AND CRAFT ARE LACKING IN TODAY'S TIME. HENCE I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT ALL THIS THINGS SHOULD BE COMPULSORY AND SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN OUR TIME TABLE DAILY.THERE SHOULD BE AT LEAST ONE PERIOD FOR ALL SUCH SUBJECTS (LIKE BASIC THINGS USING NEEDLE & THREADS SPECIALLY FOR BOYS). AND THESE SUBJECTS SHOULDN'T BE TESTED THEORETICALY BUT PRACTICALLY.

We have a lot of successful persons in our country whose life story, their struggle and achievements can be idle for young students to motivate themselves. so why not add a new subject to the curriculum regarding the success story of people like Dr APJ Kalam,C V Raman, C N R Rao ? These stories will certainly be able motivate young children to follow their path .

This is completely neglected, leading to so many problems in our society. These are used as filler or substitute teachers period. School, Parents & Media together should take it on War footings. Weekend Nukkad nataks should be made compulsory. Schools should be evaluated on this criteria also. It has to start from manners, cleanliness, following the rules, Eqaulity to fairer sex etc. B Rgds, Bhanu

Parents hate and ignore Studies other than bookish knowledge on which results are dependent. Parents treat Ethics,Physical education, arts & crafts as waste of time. The parents should be made aware of importance of these education in developing the child's creativity and overall personality during teacher/parents meet.

The weightage of the result of the student depends 100% on bookish marks in various subjects. Reduce this weightage to 75% and balance 25% weightage should be given to ethics, Physical education,Arts & crafts (EPAC). The curriculum of EPAC should be designed in such a way that it can be quantified and measurable similar to other subjects.

Ethics are in our epics but epics are communal. So prepare a treatise of ethics from various epics in the form of small stories which looks like secular and the same should be made a part of curriculum.

Ethics & life skills are 2 important aspects. Life skills help the new generation overcome the pressures of life. One suggestion is to try & include yoga, pranayama. I think this will help us to be more peaceful within.
