The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) sent a reference dated 22nd August 2019, seeking recommendations of TRAI on reserve prices for 283 cities (260 new + 23 existing), under FM Phase-III Policy.

Accordingly, this Consultation Paper has been prepared to seek the comments/views of the stakeholders on the issues related to estimation of the reserve prices for auction of FM Radio channels.

As part of the consultative process, the Consultation Paper has been uploaded on the TRAI website. Written comments on the consultation paper are invited from the stakeholders by 6th November 2019. Counter-comments, if any, may be submitted by 13th November 2019.

The construction paper has been prepared to seek view of the stockholders on issues related the estimation of the reserve prices for auction of FM radio channels. TRAI said in a statement.As pert of the process. The consultation paper has been uploaded on TRAI website.

The telecom regulatory authority of indiaTRAI on Wednesday released a consultation paper to seek comments to finalise the methodology for setting reserve prices for the auction of FM radio channels.The ministry of information and broadcasting (MRI) in August asked TRAI for its recommendation on reserve prices for 283 cities(260 new plus 23 exciting)under FM phase 3rd policy.

The three main issues that Trai has sought to address with the consultation papers are — whether channel bouquets should be allowed; should a cap on discounts within bouquets be reintroduced; and whether the ceiling price of channels in bouquets — Rs 19 at present needs to be re-examined. World-wide bouquets are a standard feature of the TV industry. Consumers across the world opt for them, rather than pick individual channels as the bouquets are cheaper.
