The Ministry of Labour and Employment is implementing the National Career Service (NCS) as a Mission Mode Project for establishing a network of Career Centres for providing a variety of employment related services. These Career Centres will be the main outreach centres for the National Career Service Project. In this project, a National portal is also being developed to facilitate registration of job-seekers, job providers, intermediaries etc. and provide job matching services in a transparent manner. These facilities alongwith career counselling content will be delivered by the portal through multiple channels like Career Centres, helpdesk, mobile devices, CSCs etc.

The Ministry seeks to position the National Career Service as a one-stop platform for all employment and career related services. It seeks suggestions from the public, youth, students, Research Institutes, Industry Associations, Academia, Industry etc.forCareer Centres on the indicative areas listed below:

a. Branding of Career Centres: A name and tagline communicating the objectives with particular focus on provision of employment and counselling related services to the youth of the country

b. Coverage of Career Centre: Geographical catchment, Sectoral thrust, Special focus groups, Women and youth centric

c. Implementation Agency for Career Centres: Academia (schools, colleges, universities etc), Industry, Industry Associations, Governmental organisations

d. Services to be offered: Jobseeker registration, Employer registration and job posting, Career counselling, aptitude assessment, Job matching, Information on availability of courses at educational institutions, training providers, Guidance on self-employment and entrepreneurship.

e. Technology Platformfor NCS: Linkage with Aadhaar/Bank accounts to meet KYC norms, Integration with other large databases, Verification of certificates and credentials.

f. Network of Career Counsellors: By linking career counsellors in schools, colleges and universities toprovide professionalcounselling.

g. Involvement of Civil Society, NGOs, CBOs and self-help groups.

h. Local Service Providers through Career Centres: Directory of Local service providers like drivers, plumbers, electricians etc.

i. Career Content Knowledge Repository: A searchable and updated database of skills based content in multiple media formats for easy access.

j. Revenue model for Career Centres to ensure sustainability.

k. Public Outreach Strategies.

Most suitable and innovative entries will be rewarded by a cash prize by the Ministry.

The last date for submission of entries is 31st March, 2015.

why dose only the students with high grade or high percentage are considered to be eligible for all the repudiated and governmental educational institution for their higher education, why not the people with low grade but with lot of knowledge are considered for giving admission to good institute for their higher education.

Career Centres can be addressed as “Namstay Rojgar" These centres should be able to address the following problems of the youth: (1) What to become(kaya bane) (2) Why to become(kayon bane) (3) How to become(kase bane) The options available, why to choose these options and what to do to get the selected option. Such guidance/information would really can make these centres useful (1)What to become(kaya bane)

Training camps by national career services on each national highway for drivers where they learn about safe driving/ method of saving fuel / how they approach when some accident take place/ what be their behaviour for foreigners /tourists/ how to avoid alcohol , bad habits may help and some certification to them will surely help.

Request to add some basic medical course in NATIONAL CAREER SERVICE PROJECT that at least make person so that he / she able to provide basic medical needs like treating fever, pain , small ailments, promote healthy habits , educate villagers, illiterate about safe sex to control populations / to avoid aids...this course may be done by any nurse/ ward boy/ have biology background. Per village one person who acquainted with this type of course will definitely help poor/ aadivasi and bridge the gap

The portal should be able to inform to those person who want to select specific Professional course for jobs ,projected % chances of getting jobs after time period of the course.

The proposed web portal should be simple and multy- lingual. Further it should start with Simple question to start interaction with web portal. The question may be like. 1.A person want job. 2. A person want training for specific job. 3. A person want self employment opportunity. 4. A person want more education. By clicking on any these sentences interaction of website should start and which should ultimate reach to final suggestion/information.

Career counselling should be given in High School & Higher secondary School stage itself by this Dept. 100% students should be covered. Portals to provide details of all job opportunities within India across all states & outside India.

Hi! It is necessary to understand the viability of setting up Career Centre/s in the northeast region of India against the backdrop of the present education-employment scenario. How such a centre can be developed and nurtured for bringing a positive change needs to be clearly laid out. My note attached gives a brief of the objectives, functions and operational activities of such a centre.
