One of the Key indices of a Smart City is better education and health. Given the area of UT Chandigarh educational institution (Schools and Colleges) are very well managed. Many of the Govt. schools in Chandigarh are at par with best schools in Chandigarh. But still we want our residents to give their views/suggestions on how we can assure global standards in our schools & colleges.

Chandigarh is a cradle of health care not only for its own residents (population 10.5 lacs) but also to the residents of neighbouring states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Jammu & Kashmir. However for meeting the utmost satisfaction of our residents and to match the global standards for health scenario, we need suggestions/views of our residents.

For meeting the standards of HDI (Human Development Index) & MDG (Millennium Development Goals) we need Smart Ideas/Suggestion from our residents on education and health sector.

public transport system needs to be strengthened in the city. By public transport, I refer to the network of buses. For a newcomer, it is very difficult to know which bus plies on which route. what is the frequency. what are the stops. what is the estimated time. Due to this most people prefer using autos/taxis. This is leading to increase in pollution. We need to make something like a mobile app, which gives detailed information regarding routes of buses etc.

Efforts should be made to make internal wkg of PGI & other govt hospital paperless by making their OPD & other depts connected with internal chemist outlets & Diagnostic centres. Smart card should be issued to opd patients with their general data, further it should hv enough space for hospital records. Medicines prescribed by Drs should directly reach chemist with one print given to patient for his record.Similar system is in practice at KITS Trivandrum.

I agree with Mohit, basic education is fundamental to children. But in addition bringing out talent amongst lesser privileged children by training them on music instruments like guitar, tabla, harmonium etc, dancing, singing etc. Children get interested into fine art activities very fast.Important is to find right tutors who hv flair for teaching such children. With our Hon'ble MP being from Bollywood, if feel it will not be difficult to start such an activity in Chandigarh.

Firstly to educated all the childern's then we can approach to skill development with any basic knowledge how we can approach to skill development. As per record all childern's didnt get admission under ARTICLE 21, ARTICLE 21(A). SO ITS MY PERSONAL REQUEST TO EDUCATE ALL CHILDERN'S FIRST THEN APPROACH TO SKILL INDIA. EDUCATE MEANS (BASIC KNOWLEDGE )

There are many govt & model schools where no teaching is done after 2-3pm. Fine art courses for developing skills of lesser privileged children in music, singing, dancing etc can be started. Such schools hv to be necessarily close the villages, BPL colonies. Engaging children in these constructive work would help them to be away from nefarious activities which is a big concern in this part of the country.

Open a Skill development center for lesser privileged people to give them on-hand experience in trades like plumbing, carpentery, electrician, masonry, etc. Training should be theory, industrial practices, future trends, material handling, safety & legal aspects. Develop an App, technicians according to trade & grade are listed for the convenience of chd residents to contact them. Public review on each technician should also be part of this App. Crash Courses for exists techs should also be there

Make virtual classroom in all model & govt schools.Ensure these are connected with one the best teachers across the country. Teaching is an art and students are the future wealth of our country. Every effort must be made to give exposure in computers, maths, science & moral science to every student.
