Motion sensors and timers can be used so that wastage of electricity can be reduced. For example a timer can be set for lights to go on and off automatically from sunset time to office closing hours. A motion detector will be working at the same time so when the office hours are over and the timer will switch off the lights the motion detector will know where there are people in the building because of their movement and keep the lights on in that part of the building.

Namaste, I believe we need to make every building to the lamp post on the street, independent (without having to use from a grid) by the usage of Solar power. A good start would be for the new govt buildings and street lamps. For example, I see so much of wastage due to the dependency on the person switching the street lamps on/off. One goes by their work timings to switch on the lamps when there is still a lot of sunlight present. Likewise switching off. Automatic equipment is already available
