Most of commercial buildings having reflective glass facade, emmits/reflects more heat than a convention building, thus creating a very high temperature surroundings. This inturn increases the usage of aircons within the bulding which houses resources(human and infrastructure). A policy to use earthy materials will eliminate unwanted usage of power.

We can begin by implementing compulsory usage of non-conventional sources in all Govt departments including Public Sector enterprises. 50% reduction in depletable sources must be made a norm., by legislation, if required. A Central body should be constituted to see to its implementation and rigorous monitoring. External Energy Audit must be made compulsory. And implementation of recommendations by external auditors. Penalties should be raised. Incentives should be given for adopting these methods. Solar Generators and UPS must be made compulsory. We have yet to tap geothermal energy which has unlimited scope and forever. Western coutries are generating electricity with mere footfalls. These can be made mandatory in malls and other large public places. But to make India self-reliant in energy, Govt has to begin by setting its own house in order and set role models in each state. A target say 2020 could be ideal. A clarion call could be made based on the above. Best of luck.

सबसे अच्‍छे उपायों में से एक यह है कि सभी कार्यालय के छत पर सोलर प्‍लेट लगाया जाए। कार्यालय के खिडकियों में भी सोलर प्‍लेट लगाया जा सकता है।

Govt buses operate inefficiently, does not upgrade to need of 21st century, making loss every-year when there one bus owner makes a profit. It also does not satisfy the public. So, like communication, buses should be privatized. Routes should not be restricted. Mini bus permits should be given more, to meet the need of villages and interior urban areas. Long bus permits should be given. A good public transport is safer, economical and less polluting.

i feel beyond certain fixed level per family, electricity consumption should be charged more./ double. so that exploitation/ abuse of electricity or wealth can be limited.particularly when its supply/production is less than required quantity.
