Public's attitude need to be changed towards the rivers. People think rivers as a dumping ground and this attitude needs to be changed.

An awareness drive and a strict discipline is needed. Public should not be allowed to throw anything in rivers. If they do so strict action like a penalty should be slapped on the user.

Continue relentless work as planned. Fully stop all water discharge under all circumstances... Fully operationalize all old and new STPs whatever the cost. Restore full flow of the river. Have strainer at suitable distances to stop sewage/ sludge/solid waste from moving continuously .Remove these on a daily basis at night and fill in landfill site to generate electricity. Have more river training works for longer distances with adequate scientific inputs from across the world..

The great task for the clean ganga mission have to be need, first local public contribution and association with this mission, every people/ Community organisation/NGOs role is vital for the success of that program.several time i have said and put my views on the aspect of clean Ganga vision and it link with the tourism development aspect is noble theme but its comprehensive planning and execution is much more difficult.every body contributing his her idea about it, it is very significant.

Ganga is a holy river,but in other sense the blind faith of people is also in some dimension adding the filth to gangs.we flow down tonnes of filth like flowers ,roli,leaves,clothes ,anything in name of god to ganga. Is not these things polluting ganga? A lot . It should be insured not to put anything in ganga just in name of rituals to make it more and more polluted ,instead special arrangements should be done near ghats to restrict these holy filths to enter mainstream.
