Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

Education is a continuous process beginning from the age of five/six.It is necessary to lay the foundation for this process and is best achieved in the primary classes. Teachers with a sound knowledge of the subject, aptitude for teaching and a good communication skill supported by a basic knowledge in child psychology should only be employed in the elementary education sector. Teacher student ratio of 1:30 should be maintained to enable meaningful interaction with all students.

it is very important to take care about primary children. Special syllubus should be include in elementary education. instead of writing learning through playing ,discoveries are better.

विद्यार्थियों का समुचित विकास किस प्रकार हो यह पूरी जिम्मेदारी गुरुजन बन्धुओं पर ही होना चाहिये । सुधारात्मक अनुशासन विद्यार्थियों पर बराबर रहना चाहिये । इसके साथ ही किसी भी पारिवारिक व्यक्ति को गुरुजन बन्धुओं के अनुशासन में दखल नहीं देना चाहिये । अपने पुत्र-पुत्रियों को गुरुजन बन्धुओं के निर्देशन में ही सदा रखना चाहिये । ईमान-सच्चाई-संयम-सेवा अनिवार्य होना चाहिये ! दोष रहित, सत्य प्रधान, मुक्ति और अमरता से युक्त सर्वोत्तम् जीवन विधान और अमन-चैन का सुखी समृद्ध समाज स्थापित करने

In primary classes, to ensure required outcomes, we must include new test methods. Practical tests like verbal and written communication should be introduced, minimum common standard for the different classes should be fixed, so that parents must be aware to achieve their target.

Primary education system must be redefined and implicated forcefully and speedily, as lack of its implementation has been the basic cause of failure of our present education system. New system must incorporate- 1- Learning with fun (like playing, singing and skill development). 2- No pen and copy policy till 5 th standard. 3- No homework till 5th standard. 4- Speaking and Dressing sense development. 5- Sports selection and creative skill development. 6- kids role in society development.

प्रारंभिक शिक्षा में अधिगम परिणाम - ‘ज्ञान ग्रहण किया जाता सिखाया नहीं जा सकता ’ इसे ध्यान में रखकर शिशु की सीखने की क्षमता विकसित करने पर ध्यान देने की आवश्यकता है। पाठयक्रम में सर्वप्रथम ज्ञानेन्द्रियों और कर्मेन्द्रियो के विकास पर बल देना चाहिए। वर्तमान में पाठ्यक्रम और युक्तियुक्त करना चाहिए।

विद्यार्थियों में सर्वप्रथम शिष्टता एवं सदाचारिता ही कूट-कूट कर भरनी चाहिये । विद्यार्थियों के नैतिक और चारित्रिक विकास से सम्बन्धित विषय-वस्तुयें भी होनी चाहिये ।

गुरुजन बन्धुओं को सर्वप्रथम तो स्वतः यह संकल्प लेना होगा कि हम सद्भाव एवं सद्व्यवहार प्रधान शिष्ट एवं संयमित जीवन को ही आधार बनाए चलते-चलाते हुए ‘सत्यं बद्; धर्मं चर ! (सत्य बोलें और धर्म पर रहें-चलें !)’ जो जीवन का सर्वोत्तम् लक्ष्य है, को ही एकमात्र लक्ष्य बनाकर आगे-पढे़-पढ़ायेंगे, बढ़े बढ़ाएंगे ।
