Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

To the Government of INDIA, I learned from parents that in the primary school, there is a lesson about “how to use the WhatsApp?” and “what are the features this WhatsApp provides for mobile users?” This specific lesson is being conducted for 4th Standard students in Bishop Cotton Boy’s School, Bangalore. The shocking news here is, this is classified as General Knowledge category. My argument is, How this can be claimed as “General Knowledge”? Please find the detailed allegations in pdf.

One must categorize the initial interest of a child up-to certain level, and make the arrangements further to develop the skills expertise in one particular subject, instead of reading all subjects till class 10 bring it down to 6,student can master in one subject of his interest. This will help using best fresh mind to develop/create innovations in that field, Mr. Albert Einstein was exceptional in Physics and maths & very poor in others, what has made Einstein is Physics. In same way we must.

No one should feel the system of education is impossing on them, rather one should feel freedom to think and do to get the proper education. Students should get enough free time for their play and spending time with their parrents as well well as their environment unilke too many assighnments in schools and at home. Society all togather stand to be guidence to them for their achievements as per their interest and wish, not by the wishes of parrents and teachers.
