Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

according to me if you force to do such a job on teacher then it will not work because it depends on surrounding of that student. so you have to list out such type of students who are weak in studies and then conduct classes. you can say it GOVT tuition. private classes will help you but not govt teachers. if you really think about them then form some PRIVATE classes. you can create target base tenders.. thank you

The Indian system of education is far behind other nations. We teach students to memorize and repeat on the examination day and if any student write of his own, credit is not given. This system should change. The student should understand what he reads and what is the use for the same. Once in 3 or 5 years the teachers should also write exams to keep their teaching skills sharp. The college education should invariably job oriented and with shorter duration.

Now a days education system is more into what rather than why in history subject..e g., who killed Ghandi? But no where children get to know why he killed.. Has India got independence from British or India is free but still British can control us again as per agreement signed by Nehru... Kids watch reality shows than gyan darshan or dd national.. In general current system is focusing more on book content, marks, ranks, grades.. Instead focus should be on moral values, ethics, helping others
