The stage 2 of the Smart City competition is very crucial as each city’s Smart City Proposal (SCP) is supposed to contain the model chosen, whether retrofitting or redevelopment or greenfield development or a mix thereof, and additionally include Pan-City dimension with Smart Solutions. The Smart City Proposal (SCP) will also outline the consultations held with the city residents and other stakeholders. Also, a vision for the Smart City has to be prepared, and this vision should emerge from the needs, aspirations and wishes of the local people to make their city offering more to live better life.

The biggest driver of the Smart City is the smart citizen. Citizen involvement in Smart Cities is elevated. So, the Smart City Proposal will be Citizen Centric, designated after consultations with residents of the city and through active participation of various groups such as Residents Welfare Associations (RWAs), Tax Payers Associations (TPAs), Senior Citizens and Slum Dwellers Associations (SDAs).

During consultations, various issues such as areas of utmost concern, needs and priorities of citizens and different groups/associations will be identified and people centric solutions will be evolved.

Chandigarh Administration hereby invites the citizens of Chandigarh to share their views on ‘How to make Chandigarh a Smart City’. The campaign aims to increase public participation in Chandigarh Administration’s effort to garner support for the city’s quest for a Smart City tag.

The residents of Chandigarh can also post, share their ideas, views and opinions on ‘Smart Chandigarh’- the official mobile app of U.T., Administration.

After GST - Most of the companies will leave chandigarh due to high rent and maintenance cost , traffic inside chandigarh will automatically reduce , we need a ring road to cover all major business centres where we can allow small commercial vehicles to operate in day time , Present Industrial area is fully occupied , do we have a plan to create a new Sector for commercial activities like sector 17/34/industrial are ( outside city please )

we are having approximate 64 schools in chandigarh , few schools are closed on Saturdays but that is not compulsory for all schools , we can plan a common scheduling for all the schools , Even Holidays are not common in all the schools , I feel school must be closed on Saturdays , This system is adopted by the whole world , children's will focus on other activities especially in sports , 30-40 % traffic will reduce on Saturday's

Most of the time traffic police officers are busy issuing challan , it's a common trend in chandigarh , I hope you all are agreed , 4/5 traffic controlling officers in one spot for issuing challans etc , Every in-charge is having challan copies with them , main focus is only to issue a challan , are they getting any incentives OR targets for issuing challans , I have hardly seen this type of activities in other parts of the country , There focus should be on traffic control please

transportation 1. increase the height of signals , not visible in case if you are behind a bus / truck 2. I have seen at least 20/30 locations ( roundabouts / signals ) , where side roads can be build to avoid traffic jams , I don't under stand why this is not visible to higher authorities , it is one of the cheapest ways to control traffic jams in the city in peak hours , if you provide me a team of 2 traffic officer , I will submit my proposal within one week

To avoid congestion and traffic jams please consider the following suggestions: 1)Their is heavy inflow from zirakpur and kala to Chandigarh. At least 7.5 m wide (two lane) over bridge should be planned at all intersections / ATC/junctions. It will not change the concept of Chandigarh because area away from transport chowk and tribune chowk comes out of central grid of Chandigarh.2)Two lane over bridge may also be constructed to cross the ATC where ever six lane roads exist.

Any society can only stay smart if its members are physically fit Exercise has to be a part of one's daily life routine Day to day wear and injury are common in sports and exercise. Improper treatment and awareness of the knowledge of prevention of these injuries acts as a detrimental factor for participation in the sports and exercise. Presently there is no dedicated sports injury center in the region. I think for Chandigarh to be smart, we should have a sports injury center
