The mandate of the Ministry of Culture is to preserve, promote, explore and share India’s culture and heritage along with ethos and values for the benefit of mankind. For achieving this Mission, the Ministry undertakes the following activities:

• Maintenance and conservation of heritage, historic sites and ancient monuments
• Administration of libraries
• Promotion of literary, visual and performing arts
• Observation of centenaries and anniversaries of important national personalities and events
• Promotion of institutions and organizations of Buddhist and Tibetan studies
• Promotion of institutional and individual non-official initiatives in the fields of art and culture
• Entering into cultural agreements with foreign countries

The functional spectrum of the Ministry ranges from creating cultural awareness from the grass root level to the international cultural exchange level. Details about several Schemes which are administered by Ministry of Culture for providing financial assistance for promoting cultural activities are available on the Ministry’s website (http://indiaculture.nic.in/).

Also, various organizations under the Ministry of Culture organize cultural programs and events from time to time.

The Ministry has decided to invite suggestions from the public regarding innovative ideas for effective use of Media in promoting Indian Culture and Heritage.

It is requested that the individual suggestions may be limited to about 200 words.

Dear NarendraModi sir, All the private media channels should give the advertises on the our national festivals like advertisement of Indian Freedom struggle at the time of Aug 15 and advertisement of Indian Constitution at the time of Republic day every year.So youths can come to know about how our freedom fighters struggled to get the freedom, India's value,culture,heritage and they will realize their fundamental duties which they vow to their country.

make youth to take part in pilgrimages and historic tours all over country travel will make them understand culture visually rather than normal reading

make steps to reach mahabharata and ramayana reach all indian youth without distortions chopras mahabharat and ramanand sagars ramayana can be retelecast in to tv channels

one more point i want to tell is our kids are knowing the real cultural value of ancient india. this should be brought in all the cbse, matric and international syllabus.

Also I have seen people writing their names on the temple walls without knowing the cultural heritage of the temple. Govt must think of protecting it too. As a citizen of India, i am not allowing anyone in my sight to do this kind off odd works and have explained them.

First of all its great to see the websites from the government. Thanks to the Govt for its great efforts on Digital India. my idea is a cloud like platform can be created with unique pages for different types of cultures prevailing in India.While distinguishing we must be sure that it does not get categorized based on state. why i am telling this because there are different cultures followed within the state itself. So a cloud platform can be created explaining the culture of the regions.

Creation of Website is a very nice plan. Govt need to create 2/4 website for a state. Historical background & Picture should be explained

1)Our school book of gk can play major role. 2)If heritage are clean then it can be a platform for traditional art performance. 3)Digital equipment can be installed to easy access of history of such places. 4)Most of the older temples should be given such emphasis so they can be protected from smugglers. 5)Tours of such heritage should the part of practicals of art students at college level to make project over monuments etc. 6)If we don't learn from history then it will repeat.
