The mandate of the Ministry of Culture is to preserve, promote, explore and share India’s culture and heritage along with ethos and values for the benefit of mankind. For achieving this Mission, the Ministry undertakes the following activities:

• Maintenance and conservation of heritage, historic sites and ancient monuments
• Administration of libraries
• Promotion of literary, visual and performing arts
• Observation of centenaries and anniversaries of important national personalities and events
• Promotion of institutions and organizations of Buddhist and Tibetan studies
• Promotion of institutional and individual non-official initiatives in the fields of art and culture
• Entering into cultural agreements with foreign countries

The functional spectrum of the Ministry ranges from creating cultural awareness from the grass root level to the international cultural exchange level. Details about several Schemes which are administered by Ministry of Culture for providing financial assistance for promoting cultural activities are available on the Ministry’s website (http://indiaculture.nic.in/).

Also, various organizations under the Ministry of Culture organize cultural programs and events from time to time.

The Ministry has decided to invite suggestions from the public regarding innovative ideas for effective use of Media in promoting Indian Culture and Heritage.

It is requested that the individual suggestions may be limited to about 200 words.

Sir, I have worked in South Africa and have noticed something significant about China. There's a newsletter "China Daily - Africa" that's published every week and sold for R10. Its a 40 page newsletter distributed free at various corporate offices. This newsletter features China's investment in any and all government projects not only in South Africa but for whole of African continent. This is quite impressive and thus I took couple of such newsletters to Indian Consulate in Johannesburg (1)

HISTORICAL TOURISM SUGGESTION: India's unique strengths is its great history. We can use it to boost our international and domestic tourism. Govt can invite tenders on BOOT basis to develop a village per kingdom within its area to present history in all glory. The village should be developed to showcase all aspects of the kingdom including palace, popular wars (field), capital, a village, etc, and sell artefacts of those times by local craftsmen.

In promoting culture and heritage it is very essential that we know our surroundings and are aware of not only our own cultural practices but also of the inhabitants of our state. Govt/PSU as well as private employees must get leave to visit and learn cultures (for example a govt employee in Jharkhand or Chattisgarh must be given incentives to serve #tribal people and understand their way of life . #MinistryofCulture and #MinistryofTribalAffairs must work together to make this possible

As i was seeing the photos of statue cleaning, i noticed many banners and hoardings of many advertisements around the statues of the sacred leaders of our country which looks so nasty. if you could set some regulations as minimum distance at which hoardings can be displayed around the statues

My idea is to share about poverty in india which is the major thing to improve in our country for I have the great idea and suggestion to give them a better and safe life like us, All have to read the attached sheet Also we all should request to our PM for an (ALL IN ONE App's )control by government like Facebook by which we can post the things we are doing and give information with the pitchers so that all can know the progress in our country. Dear Sir, My request for start Ups program, please do for small cities specially tier-3 city.These programs not support small city. please also do for beginners who required small fund approx 25 lac to one core, it's very useful for startups because in tier-3 city mudra loan approx 10 lac. not funded in these city. 2.My personal request to Prime Minster ji, please registered one email id for niti aayog & Prime Minster Office as a suggestion id in which common man send suggestion.

We have observed pattern of not recording evidential facts and propagating false, harmful tradition. Police department is directly involved into such cases instilling crime among the innocent citizens wherin facts are manipulated to favour crime and criminals on a large scale and law remains a mere tool into their hands to seek and reap personal benefits. Media also acts as a silent partner mere by maintaining the silence into the issue. This seroius issue needs immediate measure.

The ministry does organizes events,but I believe they remain limited to auditoriums and specific population.I would suggest the use of public places like Bus-stops,railway stations,public transport organized on cultural themes.Government offices at cutting edge going for makeover to portray the local culture.Each month dedicated to a particular state's/region's culture,thus considering the diversity of India.Then, Tv,radio,government websites using their services to promote the selected theme.
