The mandate of the Ministry of Culture is to preserve, promote, explore and share India’s culture and heritage along with ethos and values for the benefit of mankind. For achieving this Mission, the Ministry undertakes the following activities:

• Maintenance and conservation of heritage, historic sites and ancient monuments
• Administration of libraries
• Promotion of literary, visual and performing arts
• Observation of centenaries and anniversaries of important national personalities and events
• Promotion of institutions and organizations of Buddhist and Tibetan studies
• Promotion of institutional and individual non-official initiatives in the fields of art and culture
• Entering into cultural agreements with foreign countries

The functional spectrum of the Ministry ranges from creating cultural awareness from the grass root level to the international cultural exchange level. Details about several Schemes which are administered by Ministry of Culture for providing financial assistance for promoting cultural activities are available on the Ministry’s website (http://indiaculture.nic.in/).

Also, various organizations under the Ministry of Culture organize cultural programs and events from time to time.

The Ministry has decided to invite suggestions from the public regarding innovative ideas for effective use of Media in promoting Indian Culture and Heritage.

It is requested that the individual suggestions may be limited to about 200 words.

First equip DD and their Regional Counterparts with state of the art technology - the best in the world - and induct most talented professionals in all the functional areas. The rest will create new history for DD.

DD India shall produce a single program on all languages and transmit them at the same time so that all Indians watch the same program in their own language and get connected to DD. List such programs if DD has got now?!!!

DD of Telangana and AP are not put to good use by the GoI. Though they are primarily local they shall be national in essence. So DD shall transmit telugu programs designed and produced by DD India at a particular slot this makes the DD a true national channel. This is not happening the way it should have.

leverage vernacular tv channels and induct fresh talent from the market not from the civil servants or govt babus. the DG is a babu and many others are babus. this babu culture killing DD and AIR. stop this for once and give VRS to all and fill these two great organizations with real talent.

1. Film and TV industry is the best effective way to promote India. Govt. documentary films on art and culture with top actors should be made and uploaded free on net after it has been screened. 2. Science and Religion/art/ history & culture of India has a deep relationship. Researchers on these relation should be given more funds. 3. The saints who attained Nirwan after Swami Vivekananda should be recognized and their teachings should be documented and sent soft free copy to all schools.

#Indian heritage Indian art and culture is very old.thus to revive our bhartiye sanskriti.we can implement two ideas. Through e media. Govt should start New dd channel - DD SANSKAR Here program should telecast all regional arts n culture.. Focus on music n folk daance,show documentary on Indian heritage n also custom n clothing!! Secondly.. A magazine by. Govt. Should be published monthly updating the diversity of Indian culture This makes children n youth to get more knowledge on India

Media has become today bias and communal which need to be regulate in the interest of Loktantr. Media should contribute free of cost at least 1 hour advertisement in a day pertaining to public welfare, awareness program and also promote, explore and share India's culture and heritage . This condition must be include at the time of issuing & renewal of license. Govt should take up this matter with Media and ensure their contribution in national building.

I will Make it simple: Having a new Government channel is far better than relaying on existing one. Why to go for New Gov. channel (For Indian Culture & Heritage):- 1) New identity for New Motive. 2) Cost effective. 3) New Brand Value 4) It will broadcast for free 5) To target every Region in Country 6) Programs can be schedule way efficiently. #IndianCulture #IndianHeritage #MinistryofCulture #MyGov

Sir: Namasthe. Hv been writing in newspapers about the need for a controlled Media newss paricularly with the kind of Terrorist threats India faces across our borders both on land and sea. Media should be ordered not to publish sensitive news pertaining to our Defence, about the strategies adopted, deployment. movement and equipment possessed by our troops, etc. Also anyone and everyoe should not be talking anything and everything to the Press which will help only enemies.
