The mandate of the Ministry of Culture is to preserve, promote, explore and share India’s culture and heritage along with ethos and values for the benefit of mankind. For achieving this Mission, the Ministry undertakes the following activities:

• Maintenance and conservation of heritage, historic sites and ancient monuments
• Administration of libraries
• Promotion of literary, visual and performing arts
• Observation of centenaries and anniversaries of important national personalities and events
• Promotion of institutions and organizations of Buddhist and Tibetan studies
• Promotion of institutional and individual non-official initiatives in the fields of art and culture
• Entering into cultural agreements with foreign countries

The functional spectrum of the Ministry ranges from creating cultural awareness from the grass root level to the international cultural exchange level. Details about several Schemes which are administered by Ministry of Culture for providing financial assistance for promoting cultural activities are available on the Ministry’s website (http://indiaculture.nic.in/).

Also, various organizations under the Ministry of Culture organize cultural programs and events from time to time.

The Ministry has decided to invite suggestions from the public regarding innovative ideas for effective use of Media in promoting Indian Culture and Heritage.

It is requested that the individual suggestions may be limited to about 200 words.

1) Each month focus on one monument in social media and online. A banner with small description about the monument picture, & the address. Show distance to nearest airport, railways and important landmark location/city. 2) A MP may visit the monument site & that tweet/post can be RT and shared from PMO, tourism & other ministries. 3) Selfie with monument campaign along lines of selfiewithdaughter. 4) Flag off special trains for that month from main metro cities.

to attract the international views for Indian culture and heritage, it is must to empower Digital Marketing of festivals, fairs and Level 2 tourist places with story telling, HD photos and govt controlled Indian tourism portal. govt controlled portal may provide rating/reviews privilege to tourists which will definitely boost-up overall quality of hospitality and tourist experience. It may be hard push for campaign "Atathi Devo Bhavya". #MinistryofCultur, #indiatourism, #mygov

1)all states encourage our traditional heritage dramas for improving indian culture to all 2)telecast our jyothirlingas specialities on documentary mode in all local channels with local languages. 3)encourage minorities historical story's and give chance to playing they have community dramas in national wide. 4)protect old heritage places with proper maintenance and give this maintenance work to local masonry worker's for improving employment.

1) Creating short stories of 1 min each related too monuments, culture etc and showing in between 2 tv series, news, at start of film in DD channels and if possible requesting pvt channels to follow it to the max possible extent. 2) Govt should encourage for creating mythological, cultural based shows and govt. should support such film / tv / documentaries producers by exempting from tax, giving faster permits for shoot etc.

In my view more convince will be there if we can setup a new different section of media which will mainly focus on preservence and promotion of indian heritage and culture ....but until and unless we self will be not be careful about our country nothing will happen

i think there should be official fair in every state in month wise and in fair particular state can show there villager creativity through many handicraft or unique things(likes state special) at historical place show through this we can attract people all over world to visit that place, media can also become helpful to promote that. main things rural people with unique talent can show there guts and product which can never extract before world and this will be sunlight in thosse life.
