The mandate of the Ministry of Culture is to preserve, promote, explore and share India’s culture and heritage along with ethos and values for the benefit of mankind. For achieving this Mission, the Ministry undertakes the following activities:

• Maintenance and conservation of heritage, historic sites and ancient monuments
• Administration of libraries
• Promotion of literary, visual and performing arts
• Observation of centenaries and anniversaries of important national personalities and events
• Promotion of institutions and organizations of Buddhist and Tibetan studies
• Promotion of institutional and individual non-official initiatives in the fields of art and culture
• Entering into cultural agreements with foreign countries

The functional spectrum of the Ministry ranges from creating cultural awareness from the grass root level to the international cultural exchange level. Details about several Schemes which are administered by Ministry of Culture for providing financial assistance for promoting cultural activities are available on the Ministry’s website (http://indiaculture.nic.in/).

Also, various organizations under the Ministry of Culture organize cultural programs and events from time to time.

The Ministry has decided to invite suggestions from the public regarding innovative ideas for effective use of Media in promoting Indian Culture and Heritage.

It is requested that the individual suggestions may be limited to about 200 words.

Foreign writer opens our eyes in his book "crimes against India & the need to protect ancient temples"(see http://www.stephen-knapp.com/crimes_against_india.htm).The endowment act of 1951, allows all state governments and politicians to take over thousands of Hindu temples and maintain complete control over them and their properties in India. हमे हिंदी भाषा को सिर्फ दस्तावेजो में ही राष्ट्रीय भाषा नही बल्कि पुरे देश में इसे पढ़ाया जाना चाहिए ताकि पहले हम पुरे देश को तो एक भाषा सूत्र में जोड़े यही से असल में पुरे देश में भारतीय कला और संस्कृति और अखंड एकता का उदय होगा

यदि हमारे कल्चर को सुरक्षित रखना है तो इसे विद्यालय से शुरू करना होगा, देश के बच्चे बच्चे को यहॉ की प्राचीन पद्धतियों से अवगतकरना होगा, यहा के गीता, रामायण मे दिए हुए आदर्शों को समझाना होगा , विशेषकर कान्वेन्ट विद्यालयों मे इसकी सख्त जरूरत है , मैने कही न्यूज मे तो पढा था की अमेरिका मे गीता का अध्ययन अनिवार्य कर दिया गया है|

In maharastra today running farmer very Bad situation for water. For help pm sir announce via media to bollywood actor singer musician to do 2 to five live show in main cities in india and donate this shows income to pm madat nidhi . Also player play some internal match and help for farmer friends. Core of sum can easily contribute in this national work prime minister modiji use of media this type. Jay hind.

According to our Vedic study says we had 64 different types of art educations, which includes crafts, music, dance, warfare, politics, astronomy, astrology and many martial arts (only very few like Kalari in Kerala, silambam in Tamil Nadu etc are still alive, most of them are in deep grave). If possible we should find ways through media to bring them live and make it part of our day to day life. In places like UAE, Singapore etc every citizen should serve in Military for minimum of 3 years & so

We should make a rule that no media will misuse or relay anything contemptible content against Indian culture, heritage, religious practices, etc. Rules similar to those prevail in Islamic countries like GCC countries. Especially, we should stop elaborating media content to increase their TRP rating, we should start educating our people about our culture. Instead of promoting programs like Bigg Boss, Indian Idol etc we should promote our culture related programs like Carnatic, Hindustani etc.

We need to make Media accountable and responsible. Secondly, we need to identify interesting facts/legends/stories about person/place. Then we need to weave documentary/drama/serials/debates/knowledge competitions etc. around these. These places may be struggling with some issues. E.g. pandas problem in Har ki Pauri Haridwar. With media, these can be brought to everyone notice. And we might get innovative solution from viewers. When we talk of Agra, Taj is the only thing that we know of.

I believe media can play major role for promoting our culture and this can be done in many ways. The main thing is here the tourist shoud who comes from a very far distance they should feel safe anywhere in the country. The hindi media mostly concentrating in north part of india but still i a lot of good places in south india needs to be explore. Like Tanjavur, Otty, Munnar, Kodaikanal even the state of god called Kerala. So media should cover a lot part in south as well as in nort

It is very important to keep our culture and heritage forever, so that next generations will aware of it and spread across the world which will bring limelight for few arts, places and promote tourism. I would suggest to social networking sites where any citizen from any place can send information about cultures and places with detailed description with few images/videos so that Ministry of Culture will evaluate and identify for development of such cultures and places to promote them.
