The Government of India issued guidelines for the promotion of payments through cards and digital means on 29th February, 2016. The guidelines can be seen (here). A Committee was also constituted under the Chairmanship of Shri Ratan P Watal, Principal Advisor, NITI Ayog and Former Finance Secretary with key industry stakeholders, RBI and concerned Government Departments to review medium term measures necessary to promote the digital payment system in the Country. The Committee’s report can be seen here.

The Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India invites public Comments / suggestions on the report. We invite you to read the report and provide your valuable feedback and suggestions by 11th January 2017. The final decision on the Report will be taken after considering the comments/suggestions received on the Report.

The Committee on Digital Payments has suggested some very forward looking and visionary recommendations in its report. It is a nice amalgamation of the wisdom of several experts and international situations. I have made a small attempt to add to the Recommendations which, I humbly believe, can help India towards a less cash, safe, and hassle free experience. In my view, it is most important that Govt should implement rule making it mandatory that all the vendors must have PoS machine and simultaneously there should be a reporting mechanism so that customer can report if a vendor is denying to accept the card payment.

Many Indians work as domestic help to others. They don't get or take insurance, social security like PF etc, forget digital payments. Encourage a system or scheme where their employers or house holds make digital payments for their salaries, social security etc and give them either tax rebate or discounts on digital transactions. This will encourage social welfare of such people and also helps their financial inclusion

One of the biggest contributors of corruption is property registration, where people are forced to convert their white into black. Please make it mandatory to do property purchase using non cash transactions only, along with Aadhaar and PAN. Registration fee, registration to be done in banks and post offices, instead of sub registrar offices, hot beds of corruption. Where digital payments are used for these and even property tax payment, a suitable discount may be offered

1. Introduce payment of school & college fees digitally to be compulsory. If you want not to be tough, then encourage by giving a discount of Rs 100 per year or so. This will make the students to learn e payment at an early stage of life. 2. All Govt payments to be compulsorily by e payment. Have necessary Kendras to support poor, old and not so knowledgeable people. 3. Indians don't want to pay any card fee/transaction fee. Govt should bear the expense to make it a success.

No doubt there should be many efforts i.e Availability of NEFT/RTGS 24 * 7 Seamless Integration of all E Wallets : i.e. i.e. If I have icici pockets or XYZ Wallet on my mobile, I can do transactions with other wallets too Voice/color based tools for completely uneducated persons Availability of POS m/cs Stringent Cyber security Ensuring the bank account for each family Awareness drives for Merchants and consumers Incentives for online transactions For more ,see file

Please make sure all payment made to farmers through FCI. through bank only because FCI is not taking product from farmers FCI is taking farming product through traders only for commission and traders are paying less. Money to farmers

respected sir, digital payments in place of cash is a good idea to avoid unauthorised dealings in cash. The payments by cheques in place of payments by cash will be a better option for illeterate under educated people. The Cheques should be specific in size for different value limits. The validity of cheques to be made simple for accepting such cheques. The unique id and cheque number and bank name to be three main references for verification of authenticity of cheques.

Dear Honourable Prime Minister Good evening!! a great thanks to you for great decision of note banned in India and definitely we are doing great welcome,we also want to cash less India but after 31st of December some shop keeper not accept credit card,PTM and other online recourse,so my humble request to you please take the static action against these type of person who is not accepting online transaction.thanks
