In order to design an interoperable ecosystem of data, applications and processes, there is a need to formulate a policy for the Government Organizations to provide Open Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). The “Policy on Open APIs for Government of India” has been drafted to encourage formal use of Open APIs in Government Organizations. This policy sets out the Government’s approach on the use of “Open APIs” to promote software interoperability for all e-Governance applications & systems and provide access to data & services for promoting participation of citizens and other stakeholders.

You are requested to provide your inputs on the policy and suggest implementation approach across the government.

Sir, I have an idea which can contribute to minimum 3 groups Digital India, Green India and Clean India and idea is first we should ban the all kind of sticking of advertises/posters/pamphlets on the walls throughout India. By doing this people will automatically opt for digital advertisements. Today we can see many companies/small firm/shops/requirements advertises/posters on the wall. Some people stick on the walls which nicely painted which looks very ugly. Encourage digital media

We have technology experts and we should try to get things centrally, so that it can be managed and administrated properly. All controls should be with government and execution may be to companies who can deliver it.

Sir in government offices specially likes of government schools and hospital which as serious problem of irregular presence of officials government can install bio attendance system. This can be useful Specially in remote area where doctors and teachers avoid fulfilling their duties and this would help in not only registering their attendance but also the time of entering their workplace and leaving it.This can be launched as pilot program to check its future feasibility .

single window concept needs highly secured & reliable system or API's .Sharing of such a huge information and data across various e-Governance App's and systems can be misused by Hacker in other countries in future, for Ex. Xiome mobile banned IAF.In same way all the system or devices that will be used to accessed this information must be checked or regulated by India's cyber security ,all the source code of such devices must be made transparent to security Dept. to ensure user data is secured.

Dear Modi Sir, We can provide open data from Government of India ( http://.data.gov ) through API. So developer won't need to store the data and get most updated information on every API call. Thanks, Pulkit Agrawa
