Indian National Defence University Bill, 2015 proposes to establish a world class fully autonomous institution of National Importance under Ministry of Defence. University will develop and propagate higher education (PhD, M Phil, M Tech and M Sc) in National Security Studies, Defence Management and Defence Technology and promote policy oriented research on all aspects relating to national security, both internal and external. It would also encourage awareness of national security issues by reaching out to scholars and an audience beyond the official machinery. It will also serve as a think tank contributing to policy formulation and debates on security and strategy. INDU will inculcate and promote coordination and interaction not just between the three Armed Services but also between other agencies of the Government, the Civil Bureaucracy, Para Military Forces, Central Armed Police Forces, Intelligence Services, Diplomats, Academicians, Strategic Planners, University Students and officers from Friendly Foreign Countries. It would create synergy between the academic community and Govt functionaries. It would make available opportunities for higher studies through distance learning to interested military personnel.

Initially, four new colleges / institutions, namely School of National Security Studies, School of Defence Technology, School of Defence Management and Centre for Distance and Open Learning are proposed to be set up at main campus at Binola, Gurgaon. The four existing Defence Institutions namely National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi, College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington and National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune are proposed to be brought under the ambit of INDU without diluting their powers or autonomy for award of degrees and diplomas.

Research & Development should be the focus of INDU.There are many universities for run-of-the-mill courses.INDU should focus on bleeding edge technologies so that we can develop and patent the technologies in India.Nanobiotechnology and molecular cybernetics are extremely important.In electronic warfare technical cybernetics is important and in neurocybernetics is at the cutting edge of them all.India needs professors and talent so why not pay top dollars and get things made here rather than imp

National Defence University is of critical importance to the nation.The warfare has already extended to space platforms and there is human neural network interface with electromagnetics that is already able to alter the state of a person.Synthetic telepathy,CBRNe,Bio-war,Psywar,Neural Signal Modeling,Computational Cognitive Modeling,Computational Cognitive Informatics,Computational Neurodynamics are all at cutting edge of technology.Then there is robotics,AI and Computational Intelligence.

INDU should be focus on special student who are specially not only physically and mentally fit but must fit ethically for our forces. All student should be tested physically, mentally and also must ethically and morally. INDU should focus on R&D work for their inside problems. For major external problems, their is DRDO, ISRO and BARC etc but our forces may facing their internal problem and that can be solved by their expert only. I request govt to preserve reservation policie also.

After Narendra Modi has become the PM of India top most importance is being given to make India most powerful in Defense.To modernize our Army,Navy and Air Force , Missiles Power from time time we have DRDO . Decision of Narendra Modi Government to establish National Defense University is Laudable. University should be established in Nagpur or in any other remote area from Delhi. I think Delhi and near by places are heavly burdened. There should be no reservation, no union. Any one going to join the University should be exmined.

It is pertinent to have a curriculum that encompasses all - National Security Studies, Defence Management and the vast Defence Technology fields. This Curriculum should be Mandatory for any one to be Raksha Mantri, Rajya Raksha Mantri, Defence Secretary, junior IAS cadre, the Defence Personnel and the Finance besides the Civilians. The biggest problem for any CEO is to make Domain Specialists think in Unison. This Curriculum should aim for that Talent Building.

HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT IS VITAL PART OF EDUCATION TO DEVELOP FUTURE GENERATION AS PER OUR SPECIFIC NEEDS & AIMS.INDU ( DEFENCE UNIVERSITY ) IS A WELCOME STEP IN THIS DIRECTION. ITS IMPORTANCE INCREASES IN PRESENT SCENERIO OF MAKE IN INDIA - DEFENCE EQUIPMENTS. THE PROPOSED UNIVERSITY MUST COVER VARIOUS FIELDS OF DEFENCE REQUIREMENTS & DEVELOP TECHNICAL AS WELL AS MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL WITH EMPHASIS ON DEFENCE ONLY.COURSES SHOULD BE TAILORMADE FOR DEFENCE PURPOSE.

Well a very important and broad step for a country. unless we are able to protect our peoples, secure our business, its difficult to think about development. INDU if implemented in right aspect will really bring a lot of change in our Defence system. INDU must focus on practical and experimental approach. but theoritical part should also be studied well. and INDU should include all programs B.Tech, M.Tech, P.hd etc. and a specilisation must be there at M.Tech level for Defence Only. #INDU
