Help us make Digital Locker better by providing your valuable feedback, comments and suggestions.

Digital Locker is a key initiative under Digital India program. It is an online application that aims at eliminating the use of physical documents and enables sharing of verified electronic documents across various agencies. Digital Locker provides a dedicated personal storage space in the cloud to citizens, linked to citizen’s Aadhaar number. It will enable various organizations registered on Digital Locker to push certificates of citizens directly in their Digital Locker in electronic format. Citizens can also upload and securely store the scanned copies of legacy documents in Digital Locker. These legacy documents can be electronically signed using eSign facility. A citizen can share these electronic certificates online with various departments and agencies registered on Digital Locker while applying for the services provided by them. Thus, Digital Locker brings the citizens, issuers and requestors on one platform and reduces administrative overhead of agencies by eliminating paperwork. It will also make it easy for the residents to receive services by saving time and effort.

1. Uploading a scanned copy is not always feasible. Users should be allowed to manually key in the document ids. These kind of documents cannot be digitally signed or shared with any one. At a later date, the documents may be pulled form the corresponding websites. Eg., If I provide my AADHAR number, DoB, Pincode the document can be automatically pulled from UIDAI 2. Presently DigiLogker is not providing ownership information in the SSL certificate. This will allow phishing attacks

I really feel helpless, as even I choose to sign in through the 'social media' sign options of Google+ and Facebook, I have to eventually get through the Aadhaar linked Mobile number OTP process stage

Request you to take note of the problems highlighted in my previous submissions and help take us out from the 'Hen and Egg' situation. Please provide some alternative on the UIDAI website itself to get our numbers registered. Else, the entire Digital India programme would be rendered meaningless for many genuinely interested citizens like me.

This is not a one-off incident for me, but has been the case of many others interested but discouraged prospective digital locker users. The digital locker website, does give an option of getting the mobile nos linked to Aadhaar and redirects us to https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup-home . But this UIDAI website is of no use in updating any personal information, since UIDAI itself mandates a mobile number to be compulsorily to be registered before proceeding for any changes.

As per the statistics provided on digitallocker.gov.in, States with a good Tech-Savy population presence like Maharashtra and Karnataka are lagging behind in the headcount of registered users. I am an engineer from Mumbai and one of the reasons I feel, which are dissuading people like me is that, at the time of registration, our mobile numbers and email ids were not captured into the system, by the data-entry staff, even though they were mentioned on our forms.
