India has an estimated 20.9 lakh people living with HIV. However, nearly 30 -35 percent of these do not know there HIV status. After a person gets infected with HIV, there is a long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years when infected person may not have any symptoms till his immunity goes down significantly and he start getting different opportunistic infection like TB, diarrhoea, fungal infection etc. Hence most of the HIV infected persons present to health system in late stage when immunity is very low and their response to treatment may not be optimal. Also during this long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years, though they are infected but may not be aware of HIV status and are capable of spreading the infection their spouse or others if they continue to indulge unprotected sex.

Early detection of PLHIV is beneficial for patient himself as he can receive timely appropriate treatment including ART as well as for the community to stop further transmission of HIV.

We invite suggestion from community/ NGO/ CBO/ Civil society and public at large their views/ ideas on How to facilitate early detection of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and put them on ART as soon as possible.

contd - We think that utmost dispute and disagreements is to be launched on this subject and necessity precautions are taken to stop the Chinese dam project right away. We hope India will talk to the Chinese government and also to the international authorities. The de fecto standard by the international groups, for example, international rivers is 20 Megawatt for an undisputed dam. Any dams over 20 megawatts are harmful and controversial. At this point Mega-Dams are frowned upon and except

continued---This is a disturbing news for the people of Assam. Yarlung Tsangpo enters Arunachal after the big bend and is known as Siang or Dihing. The dams will cut off glacier fed water to the Brahmaputra. Please note that if these dams are allowed to be built, for sure, the Brahmaputra will dry out within 10 to 20 years in the Assam Valley. The reason is that at Pasighat the river contributes to 38% of the Brahmaputra’s water. However, this is the most important and the sustaining part

We are women who belong to an organization named ‘Sodou Assam Likhika Samarooh Committeee’. “All assam Women Writers’ Congregration” would be an attempt to translate the name of organization in English. We are highly concerned and alarmed at the recent Xinhua news of construction of 23 dams on the riverYarlung Tsangpo/Zangbo in Tibet which is the upper part of our primary river, The Brhmaputra, which happens to be the life-blood of Assam. We came to know about it from the local newspapers.

Dr.Mini Mony. I found that the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is faltering after the initial enthusiasm. My place Navi Mumbai has garbage strewn all over the place again. Why doesn't the NMMC outsource the cleaning, garbage collection etc to NGOs like in Bangalore ? Atleast the work will be done. I have joined the BJP recently, I am a dentist by profession. Any contribution I can make in any way pls let me know.

COMMUNITY SPACES/GARDENS TO MEET 2 BASIC HUMAN NEEDS: Safe drinking water from automatic ATM fitted RO system on one corner and Pay N Use toilet at the other. State to grant space on rent, and chargeable raw water & power. RO reject would be used in toilets and make a model of zero reject, meeting 2basic human needs, apt land use of community spaces. Invite entrepreneurs to install own & operate the facilities on commercially terms– say Rs.200 per HH pm for safe water & toilet use. Warm regards.
