India has an estimated 20.9 lakh people living with HIV. However, nearly 30 -35 percent of these do not know there HIV status. After a person gets infected with HIV, there is a long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years when infected person may not have any symptoms till his immunity goes down significantly and he start getting different opportunistic infection like TB, diarrhoea, fungal infection etc. Hence most of the HIV infected persons present to health system in late stage when immunity is very low and their response to treatment may not be optimal. Also during this long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years, though they are infected but may not be aware of HIV status and are capable of spreading the infection their spouse or others if they continue to indulge unprotected sex.

Early detection of PLHIV is beneficial for patient himself as he can receive timely appropriate treatment including ART as well as for the community to stop further transmission of HIV.

We invite suggestion from community/ NGO/ CBO/ Civil society and public at large their views/ ideas on How to facilitate early detection of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and put them on ART as soon as possible.

It is the big challenge for us because of awareness about this problem is very poor. First step is provide the good introduced details about HIV in every school, collages, university, town, city etc. Then provide the good facility like checkup or testing camp for testing means checkup of HIV in every city and as possible in village also. Extra knowledge sharing about this with noneducational people.

Dear Mr. PM, One thing i have noticed in West Bengal. Fare Shops, This are claimed to be the shops to provide cheap and best medicines. They are offering 60% or 70% less on MRP on all medicines. But shockingly in maximum fare shops they are delibritely selling drugs with maximum higher MRP`s. Maximum of medicines are getting labeled higher MRP specially by the companies and that too specially manufacturing to sell in WEST BENGAL

There is a high risk of Ebola virus on India. There is a on paper procedure for medical checkup of immigrant for other countries specially Africa. But do we have any procedure to get a counter check on this medical camps. As i have encountered couple of persons who have not gone through the medical diagnosis yet they were allowed to clear the immigration while they are returning from Africa. I strongly insist that a counter check on this medical camps must be held regularly. Jay Hind
