India is the World’s second largest producer of Fruits & Vegetables. However, the processing of perishable products in our country is very low, in comparison to the developed countries or developing countries like China, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. One of the main constraints in the growth of processing of fruits & vegetables in the country is non-availability of modern and suitable infrastructure with efficient supply Chain. Consequently, there is very high level of wastage of the fruits & vegetables in the country resulting in the farmer not getting adequate remuneration for his yield. A study conducted by Central Institute of Post Harvesting Engineering Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana, an ICAR institute, reveals that wastage in various agricultural crops in the country range from 6-18% and the highest loss has been shown in fruits and vegetables.

Ministry of Food processing Industries invites views/ suggestions for reduction of these losses.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 1st February 2015.

I humbly request our Indian ministry to observe orange day to show their solidarity for UN campaign on November 25th, day of eradication of violence against women. It would be another feather in the cap.

To decrees losses of foods and vegetables we have to order to schools and collages students to do survey of all families ,that how much future demands will be available of such foodstuff because all educational institutes are doing projects those are not necessarily as well as students are doing projects are not taking pure knowledge about it. It is only mad work. So we make awareness to every students about it said survey can show us how many foodstuff than we give plane to our farmers.

We have been hearing about food security since long. Well strategy have been applied. Production also increased. But when it come of food for all, nothing looks improved.Hundreds of thousand ton of food are being wasted due to improper marketing and mismanagement. Farmers are getting nothing, their foods are wasted, and due to mismanagement and controlled supply prices of foods are high and some people making good money. Only due to this reason people are lossing faith on cultivation.

There is necessary to preserve food and vegetable there must be suitable go downs if there are no go downs to day we acquire public places on lease as well as we supply foods and vegetables on previous demands and supply it with home dilivry. Any family can select item give demand on net or computer or through mobile message. Then there is not necessary to store such items. For quality of foodstuffs as well as vegetable public can select those items on pictures of the item.
