India is the World’s second largest producer of Fruits & Vegetables. However, the processing of perishable products in our country is very low, in comparison to the developed countries or developing countries like China, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. One of the main constraints in the growth of processing of fruits & vegetables in the country is non-availability of modern and suitable infrastructure with efficient supply Chain. Consequently, there is very high level of wastage of the fruits & vegetables in the country resulting in the farmer not getting adequate remuneration for his yield. A study conducted by Central Institute of Post Harvesting Engineering Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana, an ICAR institute, reveals that wastage in various agricultural crops in the country range from 6-18% and the highest loss has been shown in fruits and vegetables.

Ministry of Food processing Industries invites views/ suggestions for reduction of these losses.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 1st February 2015.

Indian agriculture university should also research on creating machine for harvesting and seeding machines. Although farm labour is cheaper it increase the time to send it to market. Govenment should create a bank of these equipment and rent it out to farmers and they should be opened day and night for optimum utlisation and keeping the cost down. List of supplier can be found on alibaba site

Cold storage in every industrial area of government as compulsion Minimum 2 cold storage at industrial development corporation. As people may take interest by giving them subscribing subsidy on loan taken for particular project and in rural areas, one cold storage between two taluka place as farmers can store it easier

The Marriage Amendment Bill 2014 in current form has many provisions which are highly prone to major misuse. Those will become base for broken marriages and increased litigation because of some money minded and greedy people in the society. All laws should be made gender neutral and unbiased. Draft is not according to select joint comitee report. The draft must be made public and opinion be seeked before presenting in on the table of LS. The NDA govt is believed to be transparent unlike UPA.
