India is the World’s second largest producer of Fruits & Vegetables. However, the processing of perishable products in our country is very low, in comparison to the developed countries or developing countries like China, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. One of the main constraints in the growth of processing of fruits & vegetables in the country is non-availability of modern and suitable infrastructure with efficient supply Chain. Consequently, there is very high level of wastage of the fruits & vegetables in the country resulting in the farmer not getting adequate remuneration for his yield. A study conducted by Central Institute of Post Harvesting Engineering Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana, an ICAR institute, reveals that wastage in various agricultural crops in the country range from 6-18% and the highest loss has been shown in fruits and vegetables.

Ministry of Food processing Industries invites views/ suggestions for reduction of these losses.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 1st February 2015.

Read today An observer quoted on Reservation “ Currently a SC child gets free study , after School he gets reservation in entrance tests in form of fee and marks. He gets admission in a better college despite of less marks than a General category . Number of Students from General Category get depressed on this accord . After study they again get reservation in jobs and promotions whether they are capable or not . It’s very Ridiculous.” We do endorse his views in abolishing Reservation

Respected PM, State Transport Buses should be provided for night halt in villages and the farmers can bring the fruits and vegetables to market next day before sun raise.

FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE--Ammend MV act so that Registeration of Vehicles done in any state in India remains valid in all states and need not be changed.Similarly road tax should be only one time and no option for yearly payment be given to reduce paper work. Also bring maximum interface through online to reduce harassment to public and implement time bound delivery.
