India is the World’s second largest producer of Fruits & Vegetables. However, the processing of perishable products in our country is very low, in comparison to the developed countries or developing countries like China, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. One of the main constraints in the growth of processing of fruits & vegetables in the country is non-availability of modern and suitable infrastructure with efficient supply Chain. Consequently, there is very high level of wastage of the fruits & vegetables in the country resulting in the farmer not getting adequate remuneration for his yield. A study conducted by Central Institute of Post Harvesting Engineering Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana, an ICAR institute, reveals that wastage in various agricultural crops in the country range from 6-18% and the highest loss has been shown in fruits and vegetables.

Ministry of Food processing Industries invites views/ suggestions for reduction of these losses.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 1st February 2015.

If we combine storage and transport, we can reduce losses. mobile storages must be introduce. again due to combining these two facilities, expenditure on both area can also reduce.

BETTER STORAGE FACILITY SHOULD BE PROVIDED IN ALL VILLAGES. ENCOURAGE THE PRODUCTION OF BYPRODUCTS. BETTER PLANNING IS NEEDED FOR FARMING. IF THE FARMING IS BASED ON CLEAR PLANING ABOUT HARVESTING MOST OF THIS PROBLEM CAN BE AVOIDED. SO EDUCATE THE FARMERS TO DO FOR THIS

sir please improve the hospatal in vizianagaram district in bobbili mandal sir acctually there is no hospatals in for several problems like jundice,malariya,sir please make superspeciality hospatl in bobbili please request sir ,actually many persons suffering form different problems.

In every sub-divison there should be a storage place for veg and fruit. and there should be transport facility from village to that storage place.

If fruit juice and other products can be made with good preservatives, loss can be avoided. Then retail shops can sell them out of season.

in each villages a type of Sunday market or HAAT where farmers whose yielding are not so much bring their products there and nearby mandi sthal businessman purchase directly from them..it's help these small farmers as it's reduce their cost and once things are purchased..these businessman will take care itself as his money are invested in the products..will reducing this wastage..also government aided cold storage at each Nandi sthal will also help.

sir, we are in network marketing and network marking has immense potential to grow in India. Towards creation of job in the shape of entrepreneurship network marking plays an important role. The other side it is viewed illegal and many time it is happening that people associated to this profession are being harassed by police and media unnecessarily. Nothing so far has been proved illegal or unethical. The only reason of harassing we believe that it is a great threat to media and advertisement agency because they do not get their share rather the Ultimat people associated with this get benefited. We, therefore, make some laws on network marketing so that we prove our dignity and work gracefully and general people can get the benefits.

we must encourage self seeking traders who can transport the produce from farm to market on daily basis. Rural youth, waiting to join this marketing chain should act as local traders. Give them soft loan to purchase refrigerated vans,trucks,tempos for ferrying farm produce from the fields to organised markets.Open food Parks in each District and move vegetables/ fruits based on the demand generated through internet. Vacuum packing will preserve perishable items for a longer duration.

Encourage local govts (by sharing cost) to establishing mandis (farmer markets) with basic facilities (like a lockable area , latrine, bathroom, ) easy loading and unloading like raised platforms and all cemented floors will help farmers and consumers and reduce lot of middlemen. making mandis to keep naturally cool will help vegetables preserve 2/3 days. Thinking of huge coldstorages are costly, leads to preserving food which IS the source of all sorts of diseases western world facing
