India is the World’s second largest producer of Fruits & Vegetables. However, the processing of perishable products in our country is very low, in comparison to the developed countries or developing countries like China, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. One of the main constraints in the growth of processing of fruits & vegetables in the country is non-availability of modern and suitable infrastructure with efficient supply Chain. Consequently, there is very high level of wastage of the fruits & vegetables in the country resulting in the farmer not getting adequate remuneration for his yield. A study conducted by Central Institute of Post Harvesting Engineering Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana, an ICAR institute, reveals that wastage in various agricultural crops in the country range from 6-18% and the highest loss has been shown in fruits and vegetables.

Ministry of Food processing Industries invites views/ suggestions for reduction of these losses.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 1st February 2015.

Sir, india is good agriculture country but disturbance in business system affects the selling. First, farmers are more working as traditional farming. Some advances like drop- agriculture, green house are good and long term agriculture. Gov. made project like sardar sarovar but farmers can't understand excessive canal waters are prone to salt aggregation and crop failure. So government works for modernization of agriculture method and strict law for black marketing of agriculture products.

need of the hour is to revamp and redesign our supply chain model of Public distribution system of India . 1- First of all we need to identify places for cold storage system/ warehouses at district level as per production and clear mapping of fruits/vegetables that district good in - not for every product only fast running and basis of self life- should be privatize . 2- then one big warehouse as consolidator WH at prominent places of that state 3- Need to use third party logictics

her ek district ki ek alag website ho. which should be named online-sabjimandi. jisme kissan, aadti aur consumer ye teeno log ho. us website pe online sabji ke prices honge for three person as i suggest like kissan, aadti and consumer. isse farmers ko bhi sbji ka sahi rete milega . and consumer ko bhi. aur aadhti ko bhi apna margin milega.

Most of institutes apne employees ki salary show tou jyada kerte hai nut pay uski 50% kerte hai. cause of PF which a private managment never likes to pay to govt. UID system ko aur bhi majboot banana hoga. jisme per person per transaction ka record ho. Ye scheme aur jyada transparency laegi system me.
