As the Indian population continues to grow there will be an immense competition for natural resources while achieving food, nutritional, environmental and livelihood security in the country. In addition, the negative consequences of climate change become more evident in agriculture with exploitation of natural resources, decline in soil fertility, ground water levels to meet the ever increasing demands for food and nutritional requirements. To maintain sustainable balance between natural resources and the demand, immediate attention is needed in several areas viz., imbalanced use of fertilizers, declining soil organic carbon, lowering of water table, soil health, organic farming and climate change impact in agriculture sector.

Recent studies on soil biodiversity, rapid composting techniques, use of bio-filters for removal of heavy metals from compost, application of Nano sensors in agriculture to improve nutrient use efficiency, need based fortification of micro nutrients; availability of soil health card, conservation agriculture for enhancing soil health etc. will support sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture.

With a particular focus on scientific and technical understanding of natural resources management, this portal tries to incorporate stakeholders suggestions in achieving sustainable natural resources management.

Digital technology should be used more to make India green, so that with its usage tree growers shall be paid for their environmental services, like carbon credit.

If less hot by more tree ( harvests sunlight, water, cleanses oxygen), then less electricity is required, less damage to health, less damage to natural resources. So we need to make more products from tree species like Neem for world medicinal need, so that cultivation becomes profit, then by default more trees & more green. Virtuous circle (opp to vicious circle)

India biodiversity is one of best in the world, has many medicinal species. If there is no supply from cultivated land, then there is heavy collection from Forest and Natural forest, which makes lot of species endangered. So there should be stringent rule / punishment when entering forest, same time clear, simple law and facilitation to grow and supply for national and international need. Anything can be grown & supplied, if good price and no harassment , in the name of governance.

Dry land, 60 % our land area, is not utilized properly. Three option, 1) Tree growing 2) Solar power 3) Industries. Last two options shall be tried with leasing option, which many farmers will readily agree. First option, we have most valuable important tree species like sandal, Red Sanders which will make dry land green, improve ground water, fetch good return for farmers and foreign exchange for India. Need is govt should simply say "Grow any tree, cut anytime and sell / export to anybody"

Water, essential natural resource should not wasted to grow sugarcane, then ending up with piling up stock or exporting it for Rs 20 /kg, where as it takes 1500 liters of water. Sugarcane, coconut, paddy cultivation in dry land areas should be discouraged. For that you need to discourage importing cereals, so that they will diversify into less water consuming items.

AWARENESS OF PUBLIC IN RURAL INDIA IS VERY IMPORTANT ABOUT GREEN RE OR POLLUTION CONTROL. HEAVY USE OF INSECTICIDE , PESTICIDE OR HERBICIDE IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR HUMAN HEALTH.

There is a need to grow natural resources alongwith efficiently managing them. Forest cover and farming/orchard areas should be expanded in arid areas with 1. use of technology like what Israel has developed and 2. augmenting natural environments- eg. introduction of beavers in streams deepens the streams and actually increases the water retention capability of the water body. In-situ composting, use of natural insecti/pesticides like neem trees etc can be used and set on auto-pilot.
