As the Indian population continues to grow there will be an immense competition for natural resources while achieving food, nutritional, environmental and livelihood security in the country. In addition, the negative consequences of climate change become more evident in agriculture with exploitation of natural resources, decline in soil fertility, ground water levels to meet the ever increasing demands for food and nutritional requirements. To maintain sustainable balance between natural resources and the demand, immediate attention is needed in several areas viz., imbalanced use of fertilizers, declining soil organic carbon, lowering of water table, soil health, organic farming and climate change impact in agriculture sector.

Recent studies on soil biodiversity, rapid composting techniques, use of bio-filters for removal of heavy metals from compost, application of Nano sensors in agriculture to improve nutrient use efficiency, need based fortification of micro nutrients; availability of soil health card, conservation agriculture for enhancing soil health etc. will support sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture.

With a particular focus on scientific and technical understanding of natural resources management, this portal tries to incorporate stakeholders suggestions in achieving sustainable natural resources management.

India is a country where lot of herbal plants can grow easily why don't we use it as an opportunity to produce herbal plants in these "100 smart cities" and export it all over the world. Looking forward for the "100 Green Cities" initiative from Indian Government. Jai Hind.

Indian government is now in the process of creating "100 smart cities" in the same way if it can create "100 green cities" it will be a great initiative to support the natural resources and rural livelihood. There are already 1418 people died due to sun stroke, so these green cities initiative can also help to combat global warming and prevent kind of deaths.

For a healthy atmosphere it is important that we should must focus on sustainable development. Use of Bio-fertilizerAND manures should be increased and the use of chemical fertilizer should be decreased. Government should encourage tribals to connect with society and use thier methods of agriculture and forest products for country.

Dear Sir, Our forest department plants a huge number of Trees / Plants throughout the year. If we plant only the trees of fruits (Like Mango, Papaya, Apple and other fruits as per the climate of the region) This would help in mass production of fruits and the same would help us to eradicate poverty / Hunge to a huge extent. This effert would not only make india Self sufficient in Fruits sector but we could also export the fruits and earn foreign revenue.

Sir, our country is rapidly losing greenery due to increase in human settlements as well as requirements of woods in various other factors as well as industrialisation etc. I just want to say that afforestation must be taken seriously as now a days global warming is at an alarming state. Strict steps are to be taken to control pollution. People must be taught about its consequences and strict monitoring must be enforced to find out those violating rules. Our country must be healthy and green.

By growing crops like millet we wont require much water , it is grown along with leguminous crops there by improves the nitrogen content in the soil, also it can withstand harsh climatic changes , and it generates enough fodder for the livestock. In this way we are inherently managing the natural resources and also generating enough food for millions of people across India. Growing millets can definitely without doubt improve food security in India.

Dear Sir, Everyone of us have heard of Millets , This is an amazing crop which needs less water unlike rice and is very easy to grow on Dry lands and very high in nutrient content but, with all its goodness it is the most neglected crop, whose farmers are not even provided the subsidy . My sincere request to the Indian govt is to promote such crops which save us Tons of water and also instead of distributing Rice and wheat to the poor we should distribute Millets which have nutrition.

The biggest problem is that farmers are poor and we expect them to bring seeds, harvest and then take their produce to market for selling. The farmer should not be burdened to this extent. The tragedy is that he does not have access to agriculture experts too. While farmer should harvest the seeds should be supplied by business community/ traders and the produce collected by others in the business. This might make farmers little more prosperous as the financial burden gets off their shoulders.
