As the Indian population continues to grow there will be an immense competition for natural resources while achieving food, nutritional, environmental and livelihood security in the country. In addition, the negative consequences of climate change become more evident in agriculture with exploitation of natural resources, decline in soil fertility, ground water levels to meet the ever increasing demands for food and nutritional requirements. To maintain sustainable balance between natural resources and the demand, immediate attention is needed in several areas viz., imbalanced use of fertilizers, declining soil organic carbon, lowering of water table, soil health, organic farming and climate change impact in agriculture sector.

Recent studies on soil biodiversity, rapid composting techniques, use of bio-filters for removal of heavy metals from compost, application of Nano sensors in agriculture to improve nutrient use efficiency, need based fortification of micro nutrients; availability of soil health card, conservation agriculture for enhancing soil health etc. will support sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture.

With a particular focus on scientific and technical understanding of natural resources management, this portal tries to incorporate stakeholders suggestions in achieving sustainable natural resources management.

Hydroponics or soil less farming is best option when land is not available or land is infertile, By this method we can save more than 90% water compare to traditional method, we can farm vertically, means in one acre land we can farm equivalent to two to five acre land means 2 time to 5 time out put in same land, I am working since 2001 for Hydroponics and get successes in Hydroponics, I am searching land and Financier for hydroponic farming,Government should anchorage it

Farm land preservation is a matter of concern for all India being a largest Agricultural producer we require a Farm land policy which may be accordiing to the policy makers in America there is FARM LAND TRUST USA :quote- America has been losing more than an acre of farm and ranch land every minute to development.. no farmland without farmers. THEY HAVE A FARM BILL 2014:Strengthening farmland as a strategic national resource Sir we request to have such programmes in INDIA

Natural resources can be improved more by Plantation in all villages with the help of all students in holidays with their teachers with cooperation of that particular villagers like surpanch,ward members,interested educated persons regularly educating process to be done all over India giving responsibility to villagers with education.can possible.cattle like cow,ox etc to be protected for development of Natural resources more,more.Yoga guru

Below are my ideas how Govt. can help farmers to get soil report card without a visit to soil test lab 1. Farmers should have an easy way just collect soil test data by any of below options and digitally connect with test labs to get report, a. Using a soil testing equipment which provides test data b. Use the soil testing facility at panchayat office OR any other authorised centres 2. Soil test labs will collect test data through digital medium, perform analysis and provide report

The govt scheme of providing soil health card to all farmers in next 3 years is worth applauding.But is it possible,I think no its not reasons that I found out after talking too many farmersare shocking. 1.govt soil lab reports lack credibilty. 2.govt soil labs are max in distt hq. Too far for a villager. 3.lack of adequate trained manpower for this activity. Countermeasures the can help 1.approve soil testin in CSR. .more cos to be involved. 2.alternate soilcollection centres at tehsils

India is in extreme dire straits ecologically. Water is disappearing uniformly all over India. We have to understand "NO WATER NO INDIA' We need a massive world shaking idea, not petty adjustments and hope a massive problem disappears. Its simple, Plant 20 billion FRUIT BEARING trees over the entire Himalayas and all river catchment areas. ALL Rural employment guarantee schemes have be linked locally. Remember if there is no water upstream, its pointless to keep digging channels downstream

In various parts of India, there is a good network of Canals which are used for irrigation. There should be a feasibility study done to use this vast network to install Solar Panels in the areas which can be monitored easily. This will achieve the use of available land also it will help in reducing the water theft and water evaporation.
