A huge amount of Govt. money is spent on subsidy of petroleum products. The Govt. had to spend Rs. 1,39,869 crore on account of subsidy on petroleum products in the year 2013-14. As, the indigenous availability of crude Oil and LPG is limited, these are imported in huge quantities to fulfill the demand of the country.  As Govt. provides domestic LPG and PDS Kerosene on subsidised price, this results in huge subsidy burden on Govt. Due to presence of dual pricing(subsidized and non-subsidized) in LPG and SKO, there is a diversion of subsidized LPG and Kerosene into commercial usage. Although Govt. has taken several initiatives to reduce this diversion of subsidized LPG and PDS Kerosene, public participation is solicited to suggest ways for reducing diversion in LPG and PDS Kerosene.

You are invited to suggest ideas to reduce diversion and the subsidy burden on account of LPG and Kerosene.

There should be an online procedures for applying new gas connections so that the gas agencies should not impose additional schemes such as in our area if any body wants new gas connection then it is compulsory to get gas stove which makes extra burden on customer for Rs. 3000. I it advise able that in online system facilities such as selection of companies & payment option should be there so that no charges should be paid to such gas agencies and a lot can be save to customers.

I have given up my LPG subsidy a year back. But when i try to suggest this to all my friends who are not in need of such subsidy, the first thing they ask is whether MPs/MLAs have given it up? I have no answer. So, it is would be better all the MPs and MLAs giveup their subsidy and that should come in all medias so that others are also motivated to go for it.This would help me to influence my friends better. My circle may be of 75-100 people and it may be a drop in ocean. Still it is worth it!

Sir Please find my proposal for regulating the subsidy on Petroleum/Diesel My plan include regulating dealers and also reducing petrol/diesel consumption based on differential pricing by issuing a card for Vehicle owners and for Farmers. Details are given on the PDF, this can help in reducing overall consumption, DBT Scheme like LPG, reduce fuel driven inflation, Reduce carbon emission, economy in fuel usage, separate plan for farmers and corporate etc. Please refer the pdf for more details

Our Honorable Prime Minister has asked people to give up LPG subsidy and lot of people have responded positively to him and given up the subsidy. I agree that all rich people should give up any kind of subsidy from government. By this same logic I request honorable PM to ask all lawmakers(MPs and MLAs) to give up... 1. Subsidy on 5 course meal they get when while house is in business. 2. All perks they receive as a lawmakers. Thanks a lot.

Subsidy cut should not be mandatory, rather GIVEITUP at their own WILL should be entertained, Scenario - 1: Suppose taxable income of wife is 6 lakhs and husband is 6 lakhs, are these people should not be considered under 30% bracket? why should they get the standard deductions? and subsidy cut? Scenario - 2: What about the people who are owning tons of land and getting rent on that, why should they enjoy the subsidy ? Cutting down for the people who are generously paying tax is terrib

increase subsidy in 5 kg gas cylinders. reduce the same in all other, over a period of time, by small regular increases. 5 kg cylinders should be given to those with kerosene in their ration card. that will automatically reduce kerosene demand/ need

A new section should be inserted in Income tax Act under Income from other source, in which an assessee whose total income is more than 10 lacs then whole subsidy amount credited in bank account should be charged @ 100% as income tax.
