A huge amount of Govt. money is spent on subsidy of petroleum products. The Govt. had to spend Rs. 1,39,869 crore on account of subsidy on petroleum products in the year 2013-14. As, the indigenous availability of crude Oil and LPG is limited, these are imported in huge quantities to fulfill the demand of the country.  As Govt. provides domestic LPG and PDS Kerosene on subsidised price, this results in huge subsidy burden on Govt. Due to presence of dual pricing(subsidized and non-subsidized) in LPG and SKO, there is a diversion of subsidized LPG and Kerosene into commercial usage. Although Govt. has taken several initiatives to reduce this diversion of subsidized LPG and PDS Kerosene, public participation is solicited to suggest ways for reducing diversion in LPG and PDS Kerosene.

You are invited to suggest ideas to reduce diversion and the subsidy burden on account of LPG and Kerosene.

Bring the number of subsidized LPG to 9 per annum from 12. And also make sure subsidies are not enjoyed by people earning enough to make a living

Even after PAHAL, there is still price diff of about 30% in comm. and dom. LPG. This is due to Custom and Excise duty, State VAT & OMC margin. Comm.LPG sale is only abt 3% of dom. LPG sale. If taxes are rationalised, that there is minimal diff in rates of comm. & dom. LPG, diversion can be preventeed. There is 5% Custom and 8% Excise on comm LPG where is it is nil for dom. So if tax is made same say 0.39% of for both comm and bom there will be no revenue loss to Govt and rates will be same.

I suggest the govt. to exempt all the MPs, MLAs and MLCs from the LPG subsidy as they are all highly paid. Also, all the Class I officers like IAS, IPS etc. should be exempted from the gas subsidy. Govt can also pass a bill mandating all the private sector employees with gross salary more than 30 lakhs per annum to be exempted from gas subsidy. This may look small amount, but we can save few crores every year, which can be diverted to Infrastructure and defense sectors

Please allow online payment for cylinder at time of booking. It will make life easy for consumer, delivery boy, LPG agency, bank, RBI and MoF - save time in giving change, save time in depositing cash in bank and reduce currency wear and tear.

Respected Sir, The domestic LPG cylinders are being used for commercial activities like DHABAS TEA Stall and also in other activities. Being the LPG cylinders is issued to distributor on booking then how they spare it for above mentioned activities. To stops the loop holes- a campaign may drive to sudden check of distributors' go-down with inventory and also at the using place as mentioned above. I think that it will minimize the subsidy load of the Governme

Over 2cr have efilled there IT Returns meaning there is a table linking PAN to Aadhaar. We also have a linking of Aadhar to LPG ID. I suggest no DBT for efilers in 20% IT slab and above. Its automatic, easy to do with no new data required and would better target subsidy.

ban the direct usage of both lpg and kerosene for APL card holders only, and use it for the electricity genreation. reason : the loss of energy is there while cooking, because it gives only low grade energy, although we can generate high grade energy(electricity) with negligible loss of energy. benefit : there will be no chance for black market. no harmful hazzrds if both are not used. no chance of missuse. inshort....apl card holders will use induction stove.

2 things govt can do effectively to reduce dependence of LPG as domestic fuel in rural & urban areas 1.In rural areas where electricity has not reached encourage use of solar cooler ,water heater & for lighting too. 2. In Urban areas where power is available least those homes can use induction cooktops to reduce burden on LPG ,where ever & as much they can. Encourage every Urban house to donate least one solar cooker& lighting device where power has not reached yet.
