In other words we can say that fairs and festivals are heart of the Indian socio-cultural life. In India traditional fairs and festivals are connected with religious beliefs, changing season's harvests etc. They are varied in origin. Many of them are performed in a particular manner in different parts of the country.Events, fairs and festivals can make an immense contribution to the economic development of a region. It can bring in more awareness and economic value to the regions where they are celebrated and hosted. There are also social benefits as well.Festivals contribute immensely to feelings of social cohesion. Many such celebrations focus on cultural or ethnic topics and seek to inform community members of their traditions. They involve community elders sharing stories and experiences; setting templates for maintaining unity among families.

Respected Prime Minister Shri Modi Ji, Government can publish brochures/books on all rare and important festivals celebrated across India and distribute it in all Indian Embassies and High Commissions in other countries. These brochures/books can be sold in all International Airports across India to attract foreign tourists. A package tour to witness these festivals can be organised through the Tourism Board. Documentaries exclusively on festivals celebrated across India has to be made. This will encourage many youngsters to know about those forgotten festivals. Every State should list the important festivals celebrated every year and post them in the Government website with links to know more about those festivals. This will help many people to learn about forgotten festivals. Schools and Colleges should organise competitions on the festivals and celebrate them. Postage stamps on these festivals celebrated across India will create an awareness among many people. Jai Hind 🇮🇳
