public awareness , government policy support and enthusiasm in community essential precondition to preserve any such lesser known festival. but yes govt need to support more such events which has both cultural and environmental importance like culture of sacred groves prevalent in tribal societies which will discourage the deforestation as well as preserve the rarest culture of tribal people. mass essay, drawing or speech competition also boost the knowledge of such festival in youth of country.
