This should happen at State level. The Cm's of each state should promote the local festivals of the state by organising competitions, promoting and advertising in media, financially supporting the less privileged ones or at least visit the local festivities once so that it attracts media attention and gets popularised. 🙏

Aadiwasi culture in khandesh region in Maharashtra are the oldest culture in india. The adiwasi people worship nature as a god in their whole lives.

Indian festivals, all are Culture Oriented, as most of us know, there are many lesser known, practices in many of our famous land, which are to celebrate harmony with nature as seasonal fairs and festivities do, as also to conservation of Nature, which is twice a year, one in summer and one at end of summer just before the onset of winter for both types of vegetations. So also our festivals give importance to seasonal food, as sweets and fruits especially for the good healthy living. As all fairs and celebrations are to invoke Spirituality to connect variously with the underlying reality, to take to Conscious living with the known and unknown, as our importance to Cleanliness and Hygiene, Sanitation in these circumstances prove to be, India should also seek to call for such harmonious festivals from other parts of the world and connect to them by calling for periodical conference or get together, as our nation as already taken one such, Yoga and such at global level, for Amity.

Further to my comments/ suggestions In India many festivals are being celebrated in rainy season and winter season. Following are the reasons . In these seasons so much bacteria, germs, insects are growing and spoils our health. In all these festivals people will celebrate by using neem , termaric and other herbals. These herbals kills germs bacteria etc and help to improve hygiene. Further these festivals gives employment to locals and all type of people will be beniffitted. The idea behind our festivals are to be explained thry media and ads, so that youth and tourists will get interest , thereby tourism will flourish.
