The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE), in collaboration with MyGov, invites comments and suggestions from stakeholders and the general public on the draft accessibility standards for the Products Sector. These draft standards, which identify non-negotiable rules, have been prepared to strengthen the creation of barrier-free environments in accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and relevant rules.

For making any such standards, clear guidelines from manufacturing to usage along with the disposal life cycle of the product needs to be defined. Only making standards will not serve the purpose, its awareness must be spread though digital marketing or through social networks so that the intent will meet the objective of the program
