The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE), in collaboration with MyGov, invites comments and suggestions from stakeholders and the general public on the draft accessibility standards for the Products Sector. These draft standards, which identify non-negotiable rules, have been prepared to strengthen the creation of barrier-free environments in accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and relevant rules.

All interested individuals are requested to carefully examine the proposed standards and submit their feedback, comments, and suggestions on the MyGov platform, ensuring that personal details are entered accurately during registration.

How to design for accessibility? 1. The design should minimize distractions and make it easy for users to focus on the primary content. 2. Sans-serif fonts with line heights (leading) close to 1.5 and line lengths of less than 80 characters are usually easiest to read. 3. Left aligned text maintains consistent character and word spacing.

हम बाधा मुक्त वातावरण के साथ एक आदर्श समावेशी विद्यालय कैसे बना सकते हैं? प्रवेश द्वार, गलियारे, रैंप, सीढ़ियाँ, लिफ्ट और शौचालय, सभी व्हीलचेयर के अनुकूल डिज़ाइन किए जाने चाहिए । दरवाज़ों की चौड़ाई, ग्रैब बार, रेलिंग, साइनेज और फिसलन-रोधी फर्श जैसी सुविधाओं का ध्यान रखा जाना चाहिए। पार्किंग स्थल, बैठने की जगह और खेल के मैदान भी सुलभ होने चाहिए।
