India is accelerating towards an increasingly digitised and data-driven economy. With increasing digitization and engagement, the volume of data is also increasing exponentially, providing opportunities for better governance, service delivery and innovation in sectors critical for societal transformation.

Against this backdrop, the National Data Governance Framework Policy aims to enhance access, quality, and use of data, in line with the current and emerging technology needs of the decade.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology invites all Indian citizens to bring their best ideas, inputs and suggestions to the table as we move ahead to become the hub for Data-driven innovation and decision making.

Data governance is a term used on both a macro and a micro level. The former is a political concept and forms part of international relations and Internet governance; the latter is a data management concept and forms part of corporate data governance.

In the simplest terms, data governance establishes policies and procedures around data, while data management enacts those policies and procedures to compile and use that data for decision-making.

A data governance tool is defined as a tool that aids in the process of creating and maintaining a structured set of policies, procedures, and protocols that control how an organization's data is stored, used, and managed.

A person's full details can be avail today using aadhar card. Every thing is linking. in one way it is useful inother way it can be misused also.please make sure such important data's are safe

Four goals of data governance Data is well understood. Data is accurate and complete. All data is compliant. Data is trusted within your organization. Align data governance to specific business outcomes. Ensure a data governance strategy is rooted in accountability.

A Data Governance roadmap is typically based on the results of a best practice assessment. The assessment defines the outcomes required to achieve Data Governance best practices while the roadmap details the “actionable streams” required to formalize a Data Governance program and achieve those outcomes.

Data governance is a system for defining who within an organization has authority and control over data assets and how those data assets may be used. It encompasses the people, processes, and technologies required to manage and protect data assets.

Specifically, there are four major pillars to keep in mind for good data management: Strategy and Governance, Standards, Integration, and Quality. Most importantly, in order to be data-driven, an organization must embrace data as a corporate asset.
