This proposal is driven by a concern among individual income-tax payers: a significant amount of tax is paid each year, but there is limited visibility into where it is used and what are the outcomes.
ProposaI: Income-tax payer would be allowed to have a say in where a defined portion(ex 10%) of their tax is used. The Govt would identify a set of capital projects across states, which in aggregate are funded directly by taxpayer allocations with an appropriate top-up from the Centre. For each project, the Government would constitute a dedicated task force using existing departments to ensure execution within the stipulated timeline. This approach would give taxpayers clear visibility into how their money is being used and create a stronger sense of seriousness in execution due to direct public attention. The outcome would be successful, visible projects across the country, strengthening public confidence while allowing the Government to take pride in well-executed national assets.

Whenever there is just a mention of taxation of agricultural income, people cutting across all political parties start opposing it.
The fact is that every known big politician and film stars show their incomes as agricultural income to evade taxes. It is known to everyone. But nobody can do anything.
Business owners have other ways to save upon taxes.
Government feels happy about increased tax return filing numbers. But who are filing income tax retuns are mostly salaried middle class.
How, tax net can be widened just by milking salaried class?
India ca never become Viksit Bharat with just 6-7% persons carrying the burden of rest of more than 90 % population.
Government shall consider options such as mandatory filing of income tax returns by all citizens having any known sources of income whether raxable or not.

National Data Sovereignty & Citizen Protection System
Today, many digital platforms are owned by one country but are used by citizens of other countries. In such cases, citizen data can come under foreign servers and foreign laws, which may create risks related to privacy, cyber security, and national safety.
I suggest a system where digital platforms may remain global, but all citizen data must be stored and governed strictly within the user’s own country. Each country should have its own secure, localized data infrastructure under its own laws, ensuring that foreign entities cannot directly access or control another country’s data.
This approach will strengthen citizen privacy, national cyber security, trust in digital platforms, and India’s digital sovereignty in a peaceful and defensive manner.
