Rename “Tax” as “Hundi” to Promote a Contribution Mindset: Since taxes are collected for the welfare and development of the nation, the government may consider renaming “Tax” as “Hundi.” This cultural shift will help citizens feel that they are contributing to nation-building rather than bearing a burden, encouraging voluntary and honest participation.

Incentivize and Appreciate Honest Taxpayers: Honest taxpayers should be appreciated rather than feared. Recognizing compliant taxpayers and offering simple incentives will build trust and encourage more people to willingly pay taxes.

Increase Defence Budget for Advanced Capabilities: India should significantly increase its defence budget to acquire state-of-the-art military equipment, particularly advanced fighter aircraft, unmanned aerial systems (drones), and next-generation surveillance and air-defence platforms. Enhanced defence spending is essential to strengthen deterrence, safeguard national security, and maintain technological superiority.

Dear Government Team, I want to share a suggestion regarding the latest rules on Long term Capital gains, As per the current regulations, any profit earned from LTCG is subject to a tax of 12.5% unless the amount is reinvested in another property or bonds. My recommendation is to consider including investment in startup business under the exception list, This could encourage individuals who wish to start a business without taking loans, thereby promoting entrepreneurship and economic growth. This suggestion is based on my understanding of current framework, and I believe it could be a valuable addition to the policy

Tax: Inflation-Indexed Standard Deduction - Under the Income Tax Act 2025, the Standard Deduction should be "Inflation-Indexed" to automatically rise with the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Currently, a fixed deduction like ₹75,000 loses its value as the cost of living increases. By making it dynamic, the government ensures that the "real" tax relief for the middle class remains consistent year-on-year. This provides "tax certainty" and leaves more disposable income in the hands of salaried professionals, which in turn fuels domestic demand. It is a progressive step that reduces the need for annual policy tweaks while protecting the purchasing power of taxpayers.

Rural Areas: "Smart Village" Incubation Hubs - Launch a "Gramin Innovation Mission" to set up incubation hubs in high-migration rural districts. These hubs should combine BharatNet high-speed internet with shared tools like 3D printers and food-processing machinery. By acting as rural "start-up incubators," they can help youth solve local challenges—such as creating apps for local produce or designing low-cost irrigation sensors—without moving to cities. This "Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi" approach fosters entrepreneurship at the grassroots, keeps high-earning talent in villages, and revitalizes the local economy by turning rural areas into centers of innovation rather than just labor pools.

Education: Digital "Experience Ledger" & Universal UAN - The government should develop the EPFO portal into a "National Experience Ledger." By mandating a Universal UAN for all employees (including those above the current ₹15,000 wage ceiling), the government can issue automated, self-verified "Digital Service Certificates" via DigiLocker. This eliminates the dependency on former employers for experience letters and provides the Ministry with real-time data on the country’s actual workforce. Such a move streamlines job transitions for youth and ensures a transparent, fraud-free record of professional history, directly supporting the "Digital India" vision and improving labor market mobility for professionals across sectors.

Rare Earth Minerals Incentives: The Government of India should provide strong fiscal and policy incentives for the mining, refining, and downstream processing of rare earth minerals. Developing a domestic end-to-end rare earth supply chain will significantly reduce India’s dependence on foreign sources, strengthen strategic autonomy, and support key sectors such as EVs, renewable energy, defence, and electronics manufacturing.

Tax: GST Parity for Social Security - Recommend reducing the GST on Health and Life Insurance premiums from 18% to 5%. Currently, insurance is taxed as a "luxury," which discourages the middle class from securing their family’s future. Lowering this rate makes health insurance more affordable, reducing the financial shock families face during medical emergencies. This, in turn, lessens the long-term burden on public healthcare systems. Making social security accessible to the masses is a critical step toward an "Inclusive Bharat," ensuring that progress is not derailed by individual health crises.
