One of the key priorities of the Government is to provide a non-adversarial and a responsive tax administration with the main objective of creating an environment conducive for achieving higher investments and growth. At the same time the focus is also on ensuring ease of doing business for the taxpayers. For individual taxpayers, Government endeavours to promote voluntary compliance by making compliance easy and reducing the cost of compliance for the taxpayers. These steps are aimed to ultimately result in buoyant revenue collections, reflecting higher growth, leading to higher standard of living and better quality of life for the citizens.

The Department of Revenue invites taxpayers and general public to provide innovative ideas and suggestions on tax policy and administrative issues with the objective of ease of doing business and reducing compliance cost for industries thereby facilitating buoyancy of revenue and increase in investment leading to higher growth.

I would like to highlight about the various indirect taxes that one has to pay across different items/ services that one utilizes daily. I realizes that we pay close to 20% as Indirect tax across various goods that we eat across restaurants or services that we avail. I am in the 10% Income tax Bracket range, and feel that this action for being Indirect taxed of upto 20% is unjustified. As everyone has to pay Indirect Tax in some form or the other, guess we can do away with Individual TAX

I think one way to increase collection of tax is to make issuing receipts compulsory in all shop. Currently in shops like general, Kirana, etc do not give reciepts or only when people ask for same. However it should be made mandatory for the shop keepers. There should also be online application to register complaints where shop keepers are not providing receipts.

1. please revoke all  kinds of subsidies given to the elected representatives. 2. choose best money saving option possible to  move around - either in the constituency or between cities, countries etc. 3. cut down spends on security for elected representatives where possible. and reduce the convoy vehicles to minimum. 4. cancel free and subsidized food in assembly and parliament. 5. spend wisely at large meetings and conventions. avoid renting 5 star hotels. keep it simple.

A simple but effective way of increasing the number of tax payers is by giving beneficial advantage to tax payers by which more people are acted towards paying their tax rather than avoiding them.

I also believe that like most developed countries in Europe, we introduce a stronger dependency on card based transactions over cash (whose flow is very unregulated at user level). It not only allows you to track down most transactions and holdings of money, it also enables easier payments at most public spaces like ticketing systems... It will make calculation of appropriate taxation amount easier by reducing scope of hidden money.

An option on gold monetisation is proposed for temple trusts. Sathya Sai Baba emphasized “Manav Seva is Madhav Seva”. Gold deposited will be auctioned. if it fetches a higher price than raw gold value. The reserve price will be gold molten value. The principal amount will remain as a corpus deposit with the Govt. Temple trusts will have the discretion to use CPI adjusted tax free annuity earned for welfare projects selected, for example langar, education, healthcare, drinking water, toilets.

Can government also look at making all transactions above 1000 INR as card or online payment only? This will help in a transparent way and no one can avoid service tax.

Can government look at removing tax for earnings up to say 10 lakhs? In the current situation 10 lakhs is common. By doing so there will be lot of cash on hand of common people. This will increase their ability to spend and that will have positive impact on other sectors like manufacturing and services industry.

Taxation on companies should be made based on the turnover of those companies, including all normal and irregular sale. This will ensure that tax liability is a percentage of all credits to P&L Account.
