As per the recommendations made in NEP 2020, a set of standards has been developed to ensure that all students at all levels of school education are taught by passionate, motivated, highly qualified, professionally trained, and well-equipped teachers. National Professional Standard for Teachers(NPST) would help in determining the attributes of the teachers at different levels of career pathways. In addition to this, NPST focuses on preparations, practice and performance improvement of all teachers. The standards and related policies are in line with the fundamental principles given in the NEP 2020 to provide high quality education to all. NCTE was mandated by the Ministry to formulate a guiding document and platform for operationalizing NPST.

National Professional Standard for Teachers (NPST) will monitor the design of pre-service teacher education program. This could be then adopted by states and determine all aspects of teacher career management, including tenure, professional development efforts, salary increases, promotions, and other recognitions.

In this regard, a draft document on NPST has been developed by NCTE after incorporating ideas and suggestions received from experts of various domains. The draft document has been released on November 17, 2021 to invite the suggestions and feedback from all stakeholders.

professional standards are statements of a teacher’s professional attributes, professional knowledge and understanding, and professional skills. They provide clarity of the expectations at each career stage. The standards are not to be confused with and do not replace the professional duties contained in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document, which sets out the roles and responsibilities of teachers.

The framework of professional standards for teachers set out below defines the characteristics of teachers at each career stage. Specifically it provides professional standards for: • the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (Q) • teachers on the main scale (Core) (C) • teachers on the upper pay scale (Post Threshold Teachers) (P) • ExcellentTeachers(E) • Advanced Skills Teachers (ASTs) .

1. The framework of professional standards for teachers will form part of a wider framework of standards for the whole school workforce. This includes the Training and Development Agency for Schools’ (TDA) review of the national occupational standards for teaching/classroom assistants and the professional standards for higher level teaching assistants in consultation with social partners and other key stakeholders and a review of leadership standards .

गांव वाले भी सब मेरे साथ है... पर राजनीति शाला को बिगाड़ रही है... आज सारे बच्चे दूसरे प्राइवेट स्कूल में पढ़ने को मजबूर हैं चाहते हुए भी गांव के स्कूल में नहीं पढ़ा पा रहे है। उनकी समस्या ही मेरी समस्या है... वे लोग शाला में पदस्थ कुछ शिक्षकों को नही चाहते है... उनकी वजह से भर्ती नहीं करते... उन्होंने बहुत कोशिश भी की उनका ट्रांसपर के लिए पर राजनीति... मेरे लेख पर गौर किया जाय... धन्‍यवाद

नई शिक्षा नीति के लिए जरूरी नहीं की ग्रेजुएट शिक्षक ही अच्छा कर सकते हैं... वर्तमान में कुछ शिक्षक जो H. S. DED है... वे भी अपने अनुभव से मेहनत कर अनेक नवाचार कर पढ़ा रहे हैं... सबसे पहले उनका उत्साह वर्धन कर.. उन्हें सम्मानित किया जाना चाहिए... मैं प्राथमिक शिक्षक हू और मेरा सपना है कि मैं अपनी शाला को डिजिटल बनाऊँ... बस जो समस्या आरही वह दूर हो जाय तो मैं सब कुछ कर लू... अपनी तनखा से 5%प्रति माह शाला में खर्च करने को तैयार हूं... मेरी जो समस्या है वह शासन से अनुरोध है कि दूर करे... ताकि सारे

शिक्षकों का चयन मेरिट के आधार पर होना चाहिए क्योंकि एक योग्य शिक्षक ही योग्य शिक्षा की आधारशिला रख सकता है।

Good teachers / Professors could give online lectures which is made available to Students in class or on Exclusive TV Channels. DD used to have UGC programmes for Science and Technology way back in 1980’s. Now with the advent of satellite and internet, it’s possible to invite very learned Teachers / Scientists / Professors to share their knowledge. You might get even recorded plenary lectures of learned speakers and Noble Laureates at our comfort zone without much difficulty. Give a thought.
