As per the recommendations made in NEP 2020, a set of standards has been developed to ensure that all students at all levels of school education are taught by passionate, motivated, highly qualified, professionally trained, and well-equipped teachers. National Professional Standard for Teachers(NPST) would help in determining the attributes of the teachers at different levels of career pathways. In addition to this, NPST focuses on preparations, practice and performance improvement of all teachers. The standards and related policies are in line with the fundamental principles given in the NEP 2020 to provide high quality education to all. NCTE was mandated by the Ministry to formulate a guiding document and platform for operationalizing NPST.

National Professional Standard for Teachers (NPST) will monitor the design of pre-service teacher education program. This could be then adopted by states and determine all aspects of teacher career management, including tenure, professional development efforts, salary increases, promotions, and other recognitions.

In this regard, a draft document on NPST has been developed by NCTE after incorporating ideas and suggestions received from experts of various domains. The draft document has been released on November 17, 2021 to invite the suggestions and feedback from all stakeholders.

Teachers should be recruited by those who have the ability to teach the work and have a good intention to create a better society through children. A lot of people become teachers just for the sake of salary and hobbies and handouts. There are also a lot of incompetents with BEd DEd ECCED Montesory certificate. Those over the age of 40 who are truly talented are rejected. It doesn’t give me a job even though I have talent

शिक्षकों की भर्ती उन्हीं के द्वारा की जानी चाहिए जो काम सिखाने की क्षमता रखते हों और बच्चों के माध्यम से एक बेहतर समाज बनाने की अच्छी मंशा रखते हों। बहुत सारे लोग सिर्फ वेतन और शौक और हैंडआउट्स के लिए शिक्षक बन जाते हैं। बीएड डीएड ईसीसीईडी मोंटेसरी सर्टिफिकेट के साथ भी काफी संख्या में अयोग्य हैं। 40 वर्ष से अधिक आयु के जो वास्तव में प्रतिभाशाली हैं उन्हें अस्वीकार कर दिया जाता है। मेरे पास प्रतिभा होने के बावजूद यह मुझे नौकरी नहीं देता

Dressing sense, talking sense and intersst in study is very important. Mostly teachers are just for employment. They do not have interest in study, knowledge and mental awareness and growth. Several teacher are smoking, alcoholic and having bad charecter. Primary school only female teachers should appointed. Principal should also teach few class. If teachers is on leave than principal should teach the students.

Teacher must have understanding about environment, pollution, health, nutrition value, malnutrition, females issues, violence, traffic rules, clean india, over population, National interest, water, electric, ground water falling, trees plantation, farming, cooking, fuel saving, life saving methods, alternative treatment acupressure, Ayurveda, food therapy and astrology, suicide prevention, old age care and child psychology.

A teacher and professor must involve in sports, yoga, meditation, dance, swimming, defence training, swimming, adventure sports etc.etc. He must be having read more than 200 books on different subject. They must have also ground experience. Suppose a teacher teaching commerce must do some business for few months. Teacher of maths must do work of cashier for few months. Practical experience is must for teacher.

In my education time, I did not find any person deserve for teach or professor. Mostly were working like clerk. There language was very poor, abusive and looks like uneducated. They were act like criminals. They do not have high moral value or standard of talking sense. I want B.ED passed with PHD degree should be teacher in school and professor in college. There should be training at the time of appointment and regular yearly training for teachers. Teacher should high moral values.
