Its very good idea. it will not only help to reduce the use of Petrol/Diesel but also will help to make habit to people to use of Public Transport system. However unfortunately in Pune & Pimpri Chinchwad of Maharashtra no Public Transport System is enough competent, required improvement inits time table, way of driving, way of stooping the buses at stops, behavior of staff- specially Conductors & Drivers of buses.

Walk a day programme can be done in offices, giving them a relaxing mode, the first working day or the last or better according to consensus. Similarly cycle a day can be done once a week. And as another option, the old idea of car pooling, reducing the vehicles to at least half per day.,and come by public transport a day. Thus half of working days can be on lesser vehicle mode.

One day of the week public transport fares can be reduced or to have a flat one day charge which will motivate vehicle users to travel by public transport. Can be tried in tier I and II cities where people use their vehicles to go to their work place

People keen to walk or commute by cycle but the hurdle is roads..we don't have cycle lane or pedestrian lane in our cities..no of public transport vehicles are very less..if people start seeing these things are being rectified they will happily switch to cycle or public transport..we will happy to give up petrol/diesel not for 1 day but for whole year.

Hon. PM has great vision and effort to encourage the people to save the petrol/ diesel for a day in a week, it will be benefit to the people by money, health and also benefit to the nation, the most of the fuel imported for other countries, hence, saving of petrol will save exchange currency, people should aware such matter in mass publicity, further, alternative should be provided like, electronic small vehicle like by-cycle, or self drive bycycle should also be encouraged, best wishes

#PCRA, #MPNG, #MyGov At least in IT Corridors like Hitec city - Madhapur in Hyderabad, DEVANAHALLI in Bangalore, Saltlake of Kolkata, Gurgoan at Delhi, should have 10 feet wide Cycle paths, 6 feet wide E-riksha, or Horse Riding Jatka ways as service roads in LAYOUTS, and centrally laid TRAM CAR SYSTEMS/BRTS Canbe developed FROM OFFICE SPACES to nearby Rail stations, Metro Statons , Major City bus stands, main roads. This can be planned 15 -20 km aroundIT Corridors.Weekly Two days tax Car on Road

People in the cities who use private/personal transport actually consume relatively large amount of fuel with respect to the others. Hence these people need to be encouraged to use public transport or eco-friendly vehicles like bycycle. To facilitage this there needs to be seperate lane setup for cyclist across all roads & highways as fundamental design for roads/highways.

Self Service CYCLE stands with on rent cycles at frequent places where user can use monthly card like metro card to rent cycle and drop at another cycle stand that will encourage a healthy way of living and also remove dependency on vehicles for local commute hence reduced consumption.
Add that to health points to encourage with rewards/recognition and advertise benefits of cycling wtc.
